Hello everyone! Our names are Rhys and Amelia.

We are on our first backpacking trip around Southeast Asia after saving up after university.

Our trip has been all about new and exciting experiences, and we believe workaway will be the perfect way to meet people from different cultures and learn more about the country.

So far, we have loved exploring nature, experiencing the buzzing cities and meeting local people (and of course eating amazing new foods).

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Amelia -

Before travelling I was a geography teacher at a secondary school (ages 11-16) so working with people, especially young people, is a skill of mine. I previously volunteered in Sri Lanka teaching English to young boys, so have additional experience of teaching language too.

I also have previous experience of working in hospitality (mostly cafes) and a hotel so any work like this would suit me.

Finally, I spent a few summers working at a marina where I performed admin tasks and also some gardening on the site.


Rhys -

My background is in engineering, having obtained a master of engineering degree. However, my most recent job was in scientific publishing, where I was a representative of my company in the international community. This gave me experience in communication with people of different cultures and English ability. I also delivered training as part of this job, so I have experience helping others learn.

I can cook a variety of British food. Our food does not have the best reputation, but I can try to change your mind with a good cottage pie.

I have also had jobs in cafe, bar and supermarket work.

I love sport, especially football, rugby and cricket, so would enjoy teaching/playing with anyone who’s interested.

For both - We are native English speakers.
