Hello! We are two friends from Singapore who hit it off from the first day as classmates in 2017, and we've been friends ever since. Our dream has been to embark on a Workaway journey ever since we were kids!
Nature inspires us from the moment we open our eyes until we drift off to sleep, every single day without fail. Appreciating the greenery around us comes naturally, as both our families have always loved gardening. But our love for nature extends beyond our gardens. Even the soft thumping of our heartbeat that surrounds our ears like a cinema's surround sound system before we fall asleep, never fails to amaze us.
Living in Singapore, we are surrounded by plenty of greenery, but even more so by concrete skyscrapers. Our hearts crave the solace and tranquility of the countryside, and we wish to explore that a little more before we start the next chapter of our lives this August —Regine with her first corporate job, and Neomi at university.

We're interested in learning any type of language! When it comes to teaching, we're able to teach Chinese pretty well, and perhaps drop a few useful and conversational sentences and phrases in both Korean and Japanese.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Regine: I have lifelong experience caring for both animals and plants. I have taken care of many rescued birds, a baby squirrel, dogs, and cats. In recent years, I have also had opportunities to interact with and care for farm animals such as chickens and horses.
In my role as Head of Special Projects for a social service club, I demonstrated my social work abilities by spearheading and assisting with initiatives both locally and overseas, focusing on the needs of children and the elderly. These positions allowed me to cultivate a deep understanding of social welfare and reinforced my commitment to making a positive impact on diverse communities.
Having developed a strong interest in sustainability, I have pursued various courses post-graduation, ranging from Sustainability in Fashion to Life Cycle Thinking by the UN's Environment Programme. These courses have broadened my knowledge and skills, aligning with my passion for continuous learning, innovation, and sustainability!
My internship supervisors have noted my strong tendency to be an "active problem-solver." I don't simply wait for solutions; instead, I actively explore every feasible option. My creativity and can-do attitude have taught me that even the most unappealing tasks can present the best challenges and lessons!
Neomi: From a young age, my family instilled in me a deep love for nature and animals. Despite living in urban Singapore, my parents always maintained a small garden where they cultivated plants, fruits, and vegetables. Our home was also a haven for a variety of pets including dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, rabbits, chinchillas, and tortoises, all of which I cherished and cared for lovingly.
Growing up surrounded by this environment, I developed expertise in gardening and animal care. I actively assisted my parents in maintaining our garden and tending to our pets, gaining hands-on experience in tasks such as planting, transplanting, weeding, and pruning.
I possess strong physical stamina and adaptability to outdoor conditions, traits honed through years of tending to our garden and caring for animals. My upbringing has instilled in me a willingness to learn new techniques and a dedication to teamwork, qualities I am eager to bring to your farm.
