Description
I would love to be involved in creative projects, meeting new people, traveling and experiencing diverse ways of life. I am interested in the exchange and the rewards of helping others and have an open minded approach with an eagerness to develop new skills and learn along the way.
I have some experience tutoring ESL (English as a second language) and have taken a TEFL certification course.
I really enjoy cooking and baking plant-based foods and intentionality surrounding food, living off the land, and cooking what is locally and seasonally available to a region.
In the past couple years I have assisted with various construction projects, (drywalling, woodworking, painting, sanding, mud building ), gardening projects (composting, planting, harvesting, misc. yard work tasks), animal care, and event planning/preparation.
My Master's degree is in textile history so I am also interested in supporting research and historic preservation centered projects. I have worked in museums and archival settings and recently focused on researching Appalachian weaving and needlework which has inspired my recent interest in learning to weave.
I like to navigate life with a sense of curiosity and lifelong approach toward learning. After taking a hiatus from traveling I am really eager to embark on a new journey and am open to what I may learn along the way and how I can help further others projects in exchange.

I am a quick learner and independent, I would love to learn new things through the process. Some of my past experiences and skills have involved natural building, composting, drywalling & mudding, painting, cooking, animal care, cleaning, yard work, gardening, writing, researching, data entry, archiving, childcare, hospitality, and event planning. I have taken classes in teaching ESL and have assisted in ESL tutoring. I am a beginner weaver and working on advancing my skills, my educational background is in textile research.
