I am looking to get involved with different cultures and work on projects that involve implementing permaculture and regenerative agriculture principles.

Description

Hi! I'm Ryan.

I would like to develop a deeper understanding of regenerative farming practices and permaculture principles, and am looking for an opportunity to learn from others’ experiences applying these principles and adapting them to their local conditions and environments. My current job is within the agricultural sector, developing projects related to using crushed rock fines as an alternative fertiliser through a process called enhanced rock weathering. This work has given me an appreciation of the complexity and benefits of healthy soil. I am looking to build on these skills to understand how to maximise the impact that regenerative farming practices can have toward addressing the multitude of sustainability challenges we face from both a climate and nature-related perspective.

I always give my best to the work I do and taking pride in doing a good job. I have some experience doing DIY work and I'm happy to get stuck in with physically demanding jobs.

I am currently based in the North East of England, by the coast, where I enjoy relaxing by the sea, spending time hiking and cycling in the national parks nearby, and practising yoga. I'm also always keen to give other sports and activities a try.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My previous work was within the agricultural sector which has given me a general understanding of soil health and how to embed new farming practices and track the impact that these changes have. I also maintain a small garden where I have begun to grow my own food and a variety of plants, and made use of worm composting to better utilise my food waste.
I have helped family members across a range of home renovation activities which has enabled to develop some basic building and carpentry skills (although this is an area I would like to develop more!) I am a hardworking and resourceful and I am keen to turn my hand to any challenges that may come up.
