Hey!

I'm Phaëdra, half-greek half-belgian. I'm 22 years old and very passionate about nature and the environment. I am interested in regenerative agriculture, permaculture, natural building and all kind of skills like beekeeping, animal-care, traditional crafts, woodworking, etc... I want to learn how to make everything! I love learning, reading and writing, also I love playing music and experimenting with all instruments (currently learning guitar, flute and baglamadaki). I would love to learn vegan/vegetarian cooking.

Three generations ago, my family in Greece were nomads, travelling around with their sheep. Eventually they settled in a village in Epirus. This day, the land is overgrazed and neglected. I wish to regenerate it and live there, growing into a self-sufficient community, practicing all kinds of crafts, discovering the wild nature of Greece and helping people and nature in the area.
In february 2022, i got the opportunity to go as an ESC volunteer to Greece, in an eco-village.
I stayed 8 months, got my permaculture design certificate, and have been learning & practicing regenerative agriculture, natural building, and community living.

Workaway is an amazing way to learn from others, and really get to know a community and i'm looking forward to working together! I enjoy working hard, finding inventive solutions and i'm a fast learner!

In February, I will be one month in India. I am looking for a long stay where i can be close to nature.

pruning trees and vegetables, planting, broadforking, harvesting, mulching, making and turning hot compost, tekkukana, foraging and drying herbs, preserving (dehydrate, pickle, marmelade, chutney, saltwater), baking pizza and sourdough bread in a wood oven, permaculture design, cobbing, limewashing, plastering, using circle-saw and chainsaw, measuring and calculating for woodwork, earthen floor, harvesting material for building, etcetera
