Description

Hey wonderful people :)

My name is Paul and I'm from a Hippie village called Bokel in Germany. I love to travel, get out of my comfort zone, and explore other interests of mine. I am always keen to learn new things, connect with others and exchange knowledge, language, culture, and experiences, fall into deep talks, and share positivity with others :)

My name is Lydia, the Girlfriend of Paul's who grew up in Dubai but is from London, England. I have always been interested in traveling, as living in Dubai immediately showed me a variety of cultures, food, and people. I traveled a lot when I was younger, all around Asia including Sri Lanka and Thailand, and many other places like Norway and Eygpt. In 2023 I solo backpacked around South-East Asia for four months, and am now back to my favourite place, Thailand, but now to volunteer and work, to learn new experiences and skills.

When we grew up we both spent a lot of time outside and we still do now, Pauel loves swimming, biking, surfing, running, and skating, and Lydia loves swimming, going on nature walks, and cycling. When Paul was younger he worked on a potato farm for a year where he learned to be organized and hardworking, also learning to love being outside.

We are both adventurous and independent which is why we have both traveled a lot on our own, but we also love working together in a group with people who have the same passion and motivation as me, such as the desire to explore and love for meeting new people :)

We like being productive and hard-working and can get our hands dirty because we're uncomplicated, ambitious, and motivated to do something for a good purpose.

Current political, social, and environmental crises' made us realize that we only have this one world that we must protect and not exploit or destroy, and for that, we must stick together.

I (Paul) didn't grow up in luxury, but I'm very thankful for what I have and I'm aware of the fact that not everybody has those privileges. I would like to continue and learn more about having a lifestyle that is less materialistic and harmful to the environment. So my first goal is to have a positive impact on environmental (and especially marine) protection (lm searching for such a project). But I’m still open to many other things and would love to meet new interesting people, travel or work together, and learn new skills or languages. I was a general manager for multiple hostels around the world such as Kopenhagen (Denmark), Smaland (Sweden), Kas (Turkey). In the 11 hostels i worked in, i went from cutting wood for 4 months, to social media marketing wich was my major, to managing one of the most popular diving hostels in Turkey with a 10 hour notice. I put 100% effort in the work and help whatever is needed.

I (Lydia) am so passionate about helping other people and ensuring everyone traveling has a friend they can rely on. I want to ensure people have the best experience whilst traveling, I do this by being kind, generous, and understanding. When i was in college, i studied Media Studies where i made music videos and magazine covers. this allowed me to grow my experience in editing, and learnt how to attract a target audience and gain viewers. Through meeting my boyfriend Paul, i got more into social media management which i then helped grow multiple hostel's social media accounts, mostly using TikTok and instagram.

If we asked our friends to describe us in 3 words, they would say open-minded, empathetic, and crazy.
Paul and I work very well together, we always want the best for other people and are excited to explore more of Asia. We're always creating new things, having a social presence, and are both very loving with animals!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Paul:
In school, I enjoyed being a part of the student council and organized projects concerning Human Rights (Amnesty International), women's rights (created a gallery and collected money to donate on International Women's Day), and the Environment (clean-ups/ education about waste separation). If I worked for a good purpose, my enthusiasm, ambition, and a little bit of perfectionism always led to great results.
I also try sewing, cooking, and painting sometimes (l painted half of all the walls in our house and some in my former school), where I like experimenting and doing it on my own but also like to get advice from others and learning from other's skills :) Furthermore, I'm a full-blooded musician, so my creativity is there for sure :) I'm also passionate about organisation and detail.
Lydia:
During my time traveling previously, I have grown to be a very outgoing person, who looks forward to making new friends and constantly socialising. this means I have excellent communication skills, finding it easy to talk to others whether I'm asking for help or helping them. Solo travel also meant I had great practice in the organisation and time management, being able to make difficult decisions whilst making sure I am having the best time exploring new countries. staying on top of my budgeting and organising my days means I find it easy now to find my way around new places, wherever I am.
I have 2 years of customer service experience from working as a Floor Manager in retail shops, with the ability to expertly fulfill a customer's needs, and satisfy them with whatever their goal is. Customers are the priority, and helping them however they need enables both of us to be happy.
During my time at school and college, my favourite subject was media studies, where I focused on creating magazine covers, filming music videos, and researching theorists. I enjoyed this so much that I want to go down the media route, finding social media management very interesting. I have previously co-run an Instagram account that we gained many followers on, meaning I learned how to grow a following, engage with audiences, and advertise.

Overall both of us are very energetic, ambitious, and happy people.
