Hi there!

My name is Paula, I'm 23 years old, grew up in the Netherlands in a small village in the north with my mum, dad, two brothers and our dog called Noa.

As a teenager I somehow created this day dream of living in Spain which led to taking Spanish classes in Highschool. My plan was to travel through Europe and end up in Spain after I had finsihed my Nursing studies in 2021. This plan changed a bit after I had started this journey but met Louis (28), an english man (now my boyfriend), in Italy last year on a vineyard. We travelled together through Italy and France and eventually I spend over 4 months in England last year.
Coming back to the Netherlands I have felt a bit lost with what to do profession wise and were to settle down. We now have the plan to travel again together next year to see if we find a place in Italy or Spain were we would want live together (or anywhere else if we stumble upon something else).
I am currently working in a dairy factory to save up money and thinking about maybe studying herbology. I have always had an interest in nature and health. During my nursing studies I realised that my vision on health is much more holistic rather then just western health care. Therefore I have not worked in healthcare after getting my degree. However I did really enjoy my last placement within refugee camps as a youth nurse where the work was based around mental health and coaching parents.
Last year, before meeting Louis, I've spent 6 weeks in a sustainable/eco community in Germany. Here I've spent most time working outside in the garden and helping building there sustainable farm. This has sparked my interest in this type of living even more and this year I made my own little vegatable/ herb garden at home. Therefore I'm looking for a workaway where I could learn about gardening and herbology.

Furthermore, I'm still living at home. I have worked in multiple supermarkets, a bakery, psychiatric health care and as a babysitter. I love to have a good time with friends around me, meeting new people and going out into nature. I getting in to yoga. From time to time I like to draw or paint, make clothes (currently busy with knitting a sweater), take pictures and I like to write (although that remains mostly private :p.)

So, that was it about me for now, I hope to learn something about you aswell in the future!


P.S. Louis and I didn't get a couples account in case we would both want to go to a different workaway for a couple of months. But for the most we are planning on going to the same workaway.

I speak dutch, english and frisian (wich is only spoken in one of the north provinces in the Netherlands, called Fryslân) fluently, so I would be able to learn you some more about these 3 languages. German and Spanish I've learned in highschool but are not so fluent.. So I would love to learn to speak these better!
