Description

Hi there. We are a friendly , outgoing and responsible couple. We both recently retired are looking for some new experiences and adventure. We enjoy many outdoor activities, nature and travelling to new places. We both like to keep fit and busy with a variety of sports and hobbies. Right now, we would mainly like a farm/ranch/countryside stays that involve animal care or working outdoors. We both have a lot of life experience that would make us a good helpers/workers in a variety of situations.

We look forward to hearing from you and starting our workaway experience.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a variety of skills:

Experience with animals:
Have worked at a veterinarian clinic
Worked at horse stables-feeding, mucking, trailering, driving tractors, cleaning tack, applying leg wraps and administering medications
I have owned and ridden horses on and off throughout my life. I spent many weekends trailering my horse to different trail rides and camping with them.
Currently taking western riding lessons (to keep up my skills and get my horse fix each week)
I have owned several dogs and cats - shown and trained dogs
I have worked on hobby farms and lived on my own hobby farm for over 10 years - I have experience with chickens, ducks, rabbits and more


I am an avid fisherman - have extensive experience driving boats and knowledge of water and safety

I have lots of gardening experience.

I am outdoorsy and have lots of camping experience and skills

I like to cook a variety of healthy meals

I am not afraid to get my hands dirty. I am pretty handy and have done a lot of renovations, upkeep and decorating of my homes

I come from a family that has always played a lot of games:
I love to play a variety of board and card games: cribbage, canasta, euchre, rummikub etc.

I like cycling - mountain biking

I started playing pickleball this year. Love it!

I like kayaking and hiking. I do a lot of camping with my common law. We take our fishing (pedal) kayaks with us and like to fish small, hidden lakes.

I also like to read a variety of books, mostly non fiction.

I like a variety of music and really enjoy live music.

I am nature lover. I like to walk in nature, taking in the birds, plants and trees. Being around water is my happy place, whether it's a small inland lake or the ocean. I love beaches and have travelled to many warm destinations.
