Hi — I'm Owen! I’m passionate about education/working with kids, permaculture gardening, and writing. With a background in philosophy and a deep interest in reimagining how we connect with each other and the natural world, I'm so excited to build relationships and learn from people I meet. I bring a curious mindset, a love for hands-on work, and an inability to ever stop laughing.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm a bit of a polymath. I've dabbled in a lot of areas, but there are two I have quite a bit of experience in: working with kids and gardening.

During the pandemic, I worked as a full-time nanny for a family with a 3 year old and a 5 year old. Most recently, I worked for a year as a preschool teacher and absolutely loved it. In university, I majored in Philosophy of Education, and I'm especially interested in how education can be reimagined and reoriented to be in alignment with the natural world.

Gardening has also been a consistent theme. I've always had an affinity for plants, but I joined a permaculture community farm two years ago and fell in love with the process of planting, tending, and harvesting food from the earth. Even better was the community dynamic of learning, cooking food, and sharing meals together.

I love fantasy novels, going on runs/walks/bicycle rides, and practicing the guitar (I just started learning recently). I'm an amateur writer and artist. I genuinely love people: getting to know new ones and reconnecting with old friends. Oh... and my favorite fruit is the blackberry. I grew up digging through those thorny bushes with my brother in search of the fabled perfect blackberry.
