Hi Workaway hosts!

My name is Shiyu Chen, and I’m an international student currently pursuing my master’s degree in the UK. I’m so glad to be connecting with you through Workaway.

My studies at Durham University are wrapping up this September. After spending time here as a student, I've fallen in love with the UK and decided to find a job and stay on. I'm particularly keen to learn more about the local culture, make friends with people from the area, and continue to practice and improve my English.

My major in Psychology and Behavioural Science has equipped me with a strong understanding of human interaction and communication. This is complemented by my volunteer work with a charity, where I've been designing projects to promote understanding and empathy across diverse groups. This experience has honed my skills as a great listener and made me highly adaptable in different social settings.

On top of this, I'm a native Mandarin speaker and also fluent in Japanese, which could be useful if you interact with speakers of these languages!
