Hello ! I'm Nina, and I'm 20 years old. I was born in France in a town named Gap in the Alps but until the age of five, I lived in Rwanda with my two sisters and our parents who were working there. I come from an American father and a French Martiniquaise mother so I’m fluent in English and French languages.

In 2009, I returned in France in a little village called Saint Apollinaire. A beautiful and peaceful place filled with magnificent forest, mountains and lacs.

Now, I’m a student in communication and marketing in Toulon on the French Riviera.

I can say that I'm a really outgoing person with a lot of empathy towards every beings. I love to discover everything, to know the world in each details. I’m also a really adaptive person and i tend to adapt fast in different environnement.

I know pretty well the French, American and African culture, but I want to get to know more about other cultures, travel to meet new people, get to know myself and get out my confort zone.

I am a curious and dynamic person and I'm always down to test and do anything !

Till my 11 years old I've practiced guitar, sang and I had a music band at 14 where I sang and played the guitar.
For me, art and especially music brings me so much joy and excitement. I’m passionate about music, alternative rock, Rnb, soul and groovy type of songs.

Indeed I just got to know Workaway through my childhood friend. Your organization correspond perfectly with my desire to travel alone in a safe environment and to get to help with many and different projects.

I can’t wait to experience this new step in my life, to enjoy, share time and knowledge with my potentially future hosts !

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As a dual citizen French-American, I speak fluently French and English. I'm actually a bachelor student in a communication and marketing program ( im starting my second year in September), I'm learning a third language : Spanish, so I have basic knowledge of this language and still crave to learn more about Spanish ! Besides having basics skills in communication and marketing, I master all the Microsoft Pack Office, and platforms for video editing like CapCut and design platforms too.

By living in campaign, I always did gardening stuff or helped my parents with general maintenance for the family house (sand the house, cut wood for the fire, cleaning, painting...).

We had two dogs ( the mother Tabac and her daughter Glick ), a cat ( Ikawa) , a ferret ( Bob ) and chickens !
I loved and love to take care of animals, being patient, understanding and doing all my best to make them happy. Animals are so incredibles !

I also did summer camp for 5 years when I was 11 years old in the Alps. The organization was called " Éclaireurs de France", and this organization gave me so much skills ! We built our own tables and chairs, set the cooking and sleeping place too, cooked, I learned how to live in community and share tasks. We had so much fun organizing games for the younger ones, and trying to divert ourselves ! The organization gave us liberty to go and hike, sleep, install tents far from the camp to teach us some autonomy.

I often cooked for the camp, and I still do for my family and friends. I love to cook so much and even more when im doing it for others ! I would love to share some of my dishes with you !

By the age of 16 years old, I've started to do a bunch of little jobs in restaurants and bars in very touristic area. Since the first job I did, I loved to work, to built relations with clients, and to have responsibilities.
Those kind of jobs trained me to work in a very active and multitask environment and I was so entertained by it !

I would love to learn more about music, learn new instruments, how to compose a full and constructed song, and I'm so excited to share many experiences with lots of different people and different domains of what Workaway offers.
