Les activités qui m'intéressent :

I am currently on a pilgrimage to learn about folklore and mythology of old cultures of the world.
I will be documenting these in a series of artworks, field recordings and film photography.

Description

I am Nika, an artist and explorer from the UK.
About to embark on a long pilgrimage to gather stories, folklore, music and magic from around the world, with the intention to create a book/exhibition of my discoveries.

I have a deep curiosity about ancient cultures and their practises, specifically ritual or religious, but also how these people functioned in community, built temples/architecture, revered their surrounding environment and the stories they told through ritual, art and music.

I have lived and worked in many communities over the years, some more cohesive than others, but ever eager to continue to explore projects relating to permaculture, traditional building techniques and environmental/anthropological care.

I have many qualifications in teaching outdoor skills (forest school, bush craft, navigation, natural building, tracking and outdoor activities) and am an avid hide tanner, which means I make leather out of animal skins that would otherwise be thrown away. I also make drums and rattles for music making and spiritual exploration.

I adore gardening/growing/foraging food and cooking (ex professional chef), and practical, creative projects.
I studied Ecology and Spirituality at Schumacher college and seek to combine art, psychology and a deep understanding of the natural world to help people with mental health difficulties.

I look forward to meeting you, learning new skills, sharing mine, working hard and creating beautiful memories through my artworks.
