Hi everyone,
We are Nico and Nina (NiNi), two university students from Germany. We are currently in the middle of an exchange semester in Japan for 6 months and are doing our best to learn the language, and as much about the culture as possible!

We have been traveling together for some years now, and we always enjoy slow-pace traveling, like taking our time when hiking the South-West-Coast-Path in England, or cycling along the Danube river in Europe.
What brings us the most joy is spending time with people in their authentic surroundings, and learning what they have to teach us! Like hand-making cheese in Portugal, making Gyoza or working on farms in Japan, etc.

Nico is studying to become an English- and home-economics teacher, which means he really enjoys cooking for people and expanding his repertoire of international cuisine, as well as needlework and working with fabrics (sewing, crocheting, dyeing, etc.).
Nina is studying to become a special education teacher, specifying in art. She really likes working with lots of different materials and methods, like making jewelry out of recycled and collected trash or natural materials; working with wood, paper, or more. She also has lots of experience in doing garden-work, given her parents are both gardeners who liked to involve her from very early on.
We both really like spending time and working outdoors, with nature, plants, animals, and/ or children, as well as working around the house, meaning food, construction, everyday-chores, etc.
We are both not afraid to get our hands - or anything else - dirty, and really getting to work! We are very motivated to learn new things and love to work together with people willing to share their knowledge and culture!

Since we are both becoming teachers, with Nico specifically becoming an English teacher, we are capable in teaching foreign languages, as well as our mother tongue German. We are also very interested in learning new languages, and currently, improving our Japanese skills.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We both love to work outside, with nature, plants, and animals.Since we are becoming teachers, we also really enjoy working with children and trying to make any situation fun & enriching for them.
We always try to ensure a positive attitude and a good base of communication, to make any work environment pleasant and fun for everyone involved!

We both always attempt to fix problems using DIY solutions and being creative; along with learning new skills to resolve new problems; rather than resorting to buying a solution.

We also both love to get our hands dirty and are not afraid of any work environment!

Besides that, Nico holds expertise in cooking & food production, as well as food safety. He also works well with fabric, including various techniques and machinery (sewing, crocheting, weaving, etc.). He is also very capable and fast-working with digital technology; and can quickly find his way into a new piece of software or hardware.

Nina is very capable in various types of DIY and crafting-techniques; like woodworking and wood-carving, making jewelry, creating paper, and working with fabrics. She also has lots of experience in gardening and garden-design.

We are both quite tall and physically capable for our respective gender, and carry loads.
