Hello! My name is Natacha. I am French but have spent many of the past 18 years living and traveling in English-speaking countries (Ireland, England, Canada, Australia and New Zealand). During those travels, I have often had the occasion to volunteer in hostels, farms or families, with workaway or other similar websites.

I worked as an English teacher in France (French Guiana in particular) for the past three years but I have decided to take a sabbatical and travel again for a little while.

I will go to Colombia in December for a few months and might travel in Spain before that, to refresh my Spanish. I have spent over 2 years in Centro y Sur America in 2016 and 2019, where I got the chance to do some volunteering too. My Spanish is good but a bit rusty!

I have volunteered in hostels in various places (Panama, Guatemala, Argentina, Chile, England) but also worked for 16 months in a hostel in England, helping with cleaning, general maintenance, reception, welcoming the guests, helping them with tours, doing the check-ins and check-outs, serving breakfasts and dinners.
In general, I have a lot of experience in customer care, having worked in that branch whenever possible : I worked as a waitress for 6 months in New Zealand, and worked in customer services (call centres) in various cities in Europe (Dublin, Berlin and Amsterdam).
I have also often worked with animals on farms, feeding them, cleaning their environment. I have done some volunteering in dog shelters I absolutely loved that experience.

And other than traveling, I enjoy hiking a LOT. And when I am not walking outside for hours, I like to chill reading a good book (or get annoyed at a bad one) and doing crochet. It's always fun to cary wool in your backpack!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have experience in hospitality : I worked as a waitress in the past and spent 16 months in 2018 working full-time in a hostel in England, taking care of all aspects of the business (taking care of bookings, checking customers in and out, cleaning, serving breakfasts and dinners).
I am also used to working with animals, be it in small farms with chicken, sheep, pigs, or in shelters/dog rescues.
I can help with general household tasks, mostly cleaning and taking care of children. I have experience with children through my work as a teacher, but also simply as an aunt to a bunch of awesome nephew and nieces. Cooking isn't my strong suit, though I have no problem helping, prepping, learning and doing simple dishes.
