Hello everyone! We are a couple from Germany — I’m 25 and Lena is 21 — currently traveling through Southeast Asia with an open timeline. We decided to join Workaway because we want to experience new cultures in a meaningful way, learn different working styles, and contribute where help is truly needed.

We are open-minded, motivated, and not afraid of challenges. For us, happiness comes from learning new skills, connecting with locals and other travelers, and doing work that feels purposeful. We enjoy stepping out of our comfort zone, trying new tasks, and growing personally along the way.

Whether it’s helping with animals, gardening, building, teaching, hospitality, or creative projects — we are happy to try anything and give our best. We believe that respect, kindness, teamwork, and a positive attitude are the keys to great experiences.

We are excited to meet inspiring people, share stories, laugh together, and hopefully leave a positive impact wherever we go.

Our Skills & Experience

Lena:
Lena completed her training as a registered nurse and worked in a hospital until the start of our trip. Through this experience she developed strong skills in patient care, hygiene, responsibility, teamwork, emotional intelligence, stress management, and reliability.
Before that, she worked in hospitality as a waitress and occasionally helped in her father’s craftsman and heating installation business, where she learned how to use tools, work hands-on, and stay organized. She is calm, caring, patient, and adaptable — and is always happy to help wherever support is needed.

Moritz:
Moritz studied business administration (BWL) and worked for two years as a tax assistant and in audit, which helped him build strong skills in organization, structure, accuracy, communication, planning and working with data/numbers.
During his school career, he also completed two six-month internships, one in a kindergarten and one in a senior care home, which gave him valuable experience in working with children, elderly people, communication, empathy, patience, and social responsibility.
Before and during his studies, he also worked in several practical fields such as garden maintenance, warehouse & logistics, delivery services, retail, and postal services. He enjoys hands-on tasks, problem-solving, learning new tools, and helping with physical projects or any kind of structured task.

Languages & Other Strengths

• We both speak fluent German and English and basic Spanish (still learning 😊)

• We enjoy teamwork but can also work independently

• We love animals, nature, gardening, outdoor activities and are not afraid to get dirty

• We are motivated, respectful, open-minded and quick learners

• We are both trustworthy, punctual, tidy and responsible

• We enjoy meeting new people and sharing stories, skills, and cultural experiences

• We like cooking and are always curious to try new food and learn local recipes

We are not experts in everything, but we bring enthusiasm, commitment, and a positive attitude, and we are always happy to learn something

Hobbies & Interests

In our free time, we love staying active and exploring nature. Some of our favorite hobbies include hiking, skiing, cooking, reading, and spending time outdoors. We both enjoy being around animals — whether it’s playing with them, taking care of them, or helping with their daily routines.

Lena is also very creative and enjoys DIY projects, especially sewing and making useful or decorative items by hand. She loves learning new crafting skills and getting inspired by local traditions or handmade work.

We enjoy sharing moments with others, whether it’s cooking together, having deep conversations, trying out a new board game, or simply relaxing and enjoying the view. We are curious, open to learning, and always happy to try new activities that hosts or other Workawayers love.
