I am searching for agriculture-based social development projects and schools in South Asia. I am a very active (volleyball, running bouldering) and social person (+almost TEFL certified).

Hi!!!☺️

My name is Monique (she/her), I am a 23 year-old Dutch girl. I graduated in International Studies (with a specialisation in South and Southeast Asia) last spring and have decided to volunteer at social developmental/ agricultural projects and schools in South Asia.

I love learning about other cultures and languages. I am interested in learning Hindi, Mandarin, Indonesian, Malaysian, Korean, German and Tamil. But, I am always interested in learning other languages. Additionally, I love to share idea, perspectives and approaches to life. I really like to experience new ways of life. Especially, ways that are close to nature. I am trying my best to limit my carbon footprint and the amount of waste I create, if I can even say that having flown to Asia.

I also really enjoy being outside and I cannot get enough of mountains, rivers, waterfalls and forests. Additionally, I play volleyball, football, I love to read, talk and dance (I would really love to learn foreign dances).

Previously, I have volunteered at a village for intellectual disabled guys in India, a Burmese refugee school in Thailand, a Chinese daycare in Malaysia, a hostel and olive orchard in Portugal. In the Netherlands, I have worked in a livestock farm, elderly care, many restaurants, a variety of help desks, festivals and nightclubs.

As of right now, I will be interning at a dive centre in Kerala until February 2027. After that I would love to find a long-term (6-12 months) project, with the ability to give me a longer visa, I could really connect with. But, I would also still be interested in shorter projects as well.
