Back home after a superb Workaway experience in Tuscany Italy. Allready thinking about what's next... i love Europe and its mountain regions!

Description

Hi, i'm Michaël, living in a small city in Flanders, Belgium. I have a love for the outdoors, that's why i try to travel at least once or twice a year to a nice natural destination in Europe. I have a particular love for mountain regions like the Alps, Pyrenees, Carpathian mountains, Balkan,... although i love every other beautifull nature destination anywhere else as well of course. You can also find me a lot in our own Ardennes region here in Belgium.

For travelling i use an old (but sturdy) 4x4 with roof top tent and basic camping equipment. I am an higher educated car mechanic by profession, and i have good allround technical skills and two right hands in combination with common sense and logical thinking. Recently i started working freelance.

I'm easy going, open-minded and believe in mutual respect. I'm very rational, yet quite emotional, sensitive and deep feeling at the same time. I have a strong sense for justice. I like music from Mozart to Metallica and lots in between. I'm not a thrill seeker, but i like walking, hiking, canoeing, MTB,... and finishing the day at a campfire or with a nice (board)game, maybe with a glass of whiskey at the side :)

I have great interest and some good knowledge about sustainability, earth-boundaries, climate, science, politics, technology, energy, (social) justice, etc... You can talk with me about various subjects, i have a wide range of interest.

I'm also a proud uncle and godfather of two toddlers, so i know my way around kids.

I'm looking for anyone who could use my skills as a host, or a travel partner who likes to explore and enjoy nice nature destinations in Europe. If you are a nice person, i'd be happy to offer you a co-pilot seat in the jeep ;)

I'm a native Dutch speaker, fluent English speaker and intermediate French and German speaking. I'd be happy to help you understand or speak any of these languages while traveling together. Also it's always nice for me to practice and upgrade my French and German.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm an higher educated car mechanic by profession with 2 right hands and a logical thinking brain for solving technical problems. I can help out with any physical or handyman work like electrics, mechanics, basic building and construction work, basic woodcraft,... I'd be happy to help with anything.

I don't have particular gardening or food production skills, but i'm always willing to learn and help. And of course, if you're having problems with your car or other machinery, i'd be happy to give it a look ;-)

I play volleybal, tennis and ride MTB. I'm a music lover from Mozart to Metallica and lots in between. I like (board)games and a good glas of whiskey with it now and then ;-)
