This summer I will bike from Slovenia to Kosovo, hoping to get to know new people and places and share our ideas, knowledge and time.

Description

Hello, my name is Mayra!
I am 25 years old and just finished my master's studies in Anthropology in Utrecht, which I loved a lot. My favorite thing about it is getting to know different people, but also different ways of living and relating. My thesis was focused on agriculture, which is a big interest of mine. While I have lived in different cities (also in very different countries), I come from a small farmers town. I know quite a lot about modern farming, but sadly, less about more holistic ways of farming like permaculture. Besides these studies, I work in care work, mostly with children or the elderly at home, bringing me to many different places, families, and circumstances. Lastly, I try to spend a lot of time with friends, drinking tea, coffee, or a beer, and talking about life.
I love meeting new people and having genuine time for each other. Furthermore, I enjoy thinking and talking about societal constructions and see how things could be done in different ways, especially by sharing stories, but even more by sharing hobbies (or passions or knowledge).

This summer, I am biking around Southeast Europe with my boyfriend and possibly alone. He wants to learn more about his family’s background, and I just really love burek, no kidding, of course ;), by biking I also hope to experience a bit more of the places I will go to and have more time to go along in projects or random plans.

Some of my hobbies are: cooking, sewing, drawing, dancing, bouldering, hiking, and hopefully more after this summer, biking. I would love to share and learn from others.

While I have a big interest in farming, my work experience is rather limited to the more industrialized agriculture. I am very interested in learning more about alternative ways of farming or relating to our surroundings on a smaller scale. In general, I just want to be outside, active, learn, connect, and do physical work (Where my biggest assets to offer are my perseverance and big biceps)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am good at overseeing things and knowing priorities. I work very well with people or in groups and always try to make sure things feel fair for everyone. I also work well in doing small crafts with my hands, and I like designing things to be both practical and beautiful.
