Description
Hello there! We are Matt and Nicole, both currently living the dream travelling in South East Asia for a few months. We met in South Africa last year and quickly bonded over our love for travel, adventure and helping people along with our desire to learn as much as possible about society and culture outside of our home countries. Health, fitness and mindfulness are a priority to both of us as well as our shared passion for nature and vegetarianism.
Matt is an outdoors expert who has trained professionally as a Mountain Leader/Guide and has many physical achievements under his belt including marathons, peak challenges and most recently, cycling a significant area of the Himalayas in North India. He has always been community minded and is a natural leader, a passion born from volunteering with his local Scout group for many years and one he spent time nurturing while working at a language school in England during his summer breaks from university. His responsibilities there included creating lessons, running activities and leading tours for young people visiting The UK for the first time.
Matt recently quit his job as a Data Scientist so we could travel together full time and start building the life we’ve dreamt up. He is seeking a deeper connection with humanity and is committed to discovering new and unique ways he can help people every day.
Matt’s hobbies include indoor/outdoor rock climbing, hiking, sports, nature, cycling and running.
Nicole has many years of experience across various industries. Her love for helping people was born out of working at a summer camp for people with a disability in the US back in her early 20s. Since then, she has held a number of roles across various not for profit organisations in Australia who provide services in the disability and mental health sectors.
Nicole also has a passion for the arts. She performed throughout her school years, excelling in singing and drama, is a keen writer and poet and is constantly polishing her photography skills. When working, Nicole thrives when leading projects and keeping the team organised. She prides herself on the ability to listen actively, ensuring the people around her feel seen and heard.
Nicole’s hobbies including music, hiking, indoor/outdoor rock climbing, running and meditation.
