I am Marla, a 31 years old french girl who has been traveling all around the world, mostly volunteering.

I am a nature and animal lover, passionate about natural building especially cob building which is my specialty. I love to work outdoor, get dirty, create things, pick up fresh veggies and fruits, feel connected to nature and my body basically. I am also very interested into body awareness and movement of any kind, I teach yoga and acroyoga, and I love to dance! On my free time I enjoy drawing and painting as well.

I truly love to connect with people from around the world, discover new cultures and langages, it's been really inspiring to participate and help people with meaningful projects and I am always happy to give a hand and experiment those kind of exchanges.

I have a deep respect for nature and animals, so veggie lifestyle and using natural products is important to me. I don't smoke and only very occasionnaly drink. My drug is the sunshine on my skin and the breath of wind!

I am a manual personn, i do a lot of crafts. I love to draw, paint, sew, work with wood. I can help in any kind of artistic projects.
I have experience in building, especially natural building (cob, straw bale)
I am fluent in french and english, native from both France and the US. I have a good level in japanese which I studied for 3 years. So I can help to teach languages.
I have good social skills, love to talk and help people in general.

Wonderfull time, with amazing people.
This truly is an incredibly bright, warm and beautiful place. To me the real sun of Hrovji is the shinny and marvelous community of people leaving there. Their presence is even more enjoyable than the delightful sunbath in the hammock or the marvelous view on the sunset. Manja, Nara, Vida and Maxs are… read more open-minded, interesting (& interested) and fun people. I felt really privileged to learn from their experiences and stories, they all inspired me in different ways.
If you want to learn about permaculture and ecology, and are interested in deep human experience, I encourage you to run to this place as soon as possible. It's the perfect place to challenge your thoughts and go out of your confort zone, go back to your "primitive" instinct, walking barefeet, eating with your fingers (if you wish of course), and no one will judge you for that! You'll spend some nice time working in the garden, or peeling garlic (there is so much garlic it's an endless task) inside when it's bad weather.
Most of the time it didn't felt like working at all, I enjoyed learning many things while chatting in the compagny of other nice volunteers. I was really satisfied about the pedagogy here: Nara is willing to take time to teach you things properly (using tools correctly for example) and I appreciate him for that. Manja is a good teacher as well and encourages you to do things your own way. Manja and Nara have both very different but complementary approach towards the volunteer, perfect combination.
I learned so many unexpected and diversified things during my stay: baking bread, ayurvedic diets and body types, cleaning my teeth with a wood stick, bollywood freestyle dance, wild eatable plants, kefir culture...
In the evening you can enjoy community atmosphere playing music and eating homemade pizza around the fire, watching movies in the leaving room, or playing board games. The house is huge so it's also possible to enjoy solitude and have your own space.
I shouldn't talk about the food because it would take three more paragraphs, just know that eating at this place is like eating in a fancy vegetarian organic restaurant everyday. Fresh products from the garden, plants from the forest, so many spices. SO GOOD.
On your free time, there is many enjoyable walks around and very nice spots and sceneries. Vida is a perfect nature guide and she will be happy to share about the surroundings and take you for a walk!
