Hi! I'm Marie, I'm 28 and I love to travel and discover new cultures, people and landscapes. I've lived in Spain for a year (Barcelona, Sevilla) , I've got a deep and intuitive connexion to Spanish-speaking cultures and traditions, that's why I also did a year long Working Holiday Visa in Peru.
I'm passionate, joyful and eager to lean about anything.
I speak French, English, Spanish fluently and some Italian, the basics.
I've been teaching English for 7 years in French high schools and I believe in alternative pedagogies and new ways of considering education.
I enjoy deep talks about life and thought provoking topics. I love gazing at the stars at night, it makes me feel free.
Dancing, yoga, and music are my absolute daily essentials, I've been dancing since I was 4 and never stopped. I graduated from Cours Florent art school in Paris. Getting to act, dance, and sing for a living was an absolute dream come true

¡Hola! Soy Marie, tengo 28 años a y me encanta viajar y descubrir nuevas culturas, personas y paisajes. Viví en España durante un año (Barcelona, Sevilla) y tengo una conexión profunda e intuitiva con las culturas y tradiciones hispanohablantes; por eso también hice un Working Holiday Visa de un año en Perú.
Soy una persona apasionada, alegre y con muchas ganas de aprender sobre cualquier cosa. Hablo francés, inglés y español con fluidez, y tengo conocimientos básicos de italiano.
Llevo 7 años enseñando inglés en escuelas secundarias francesas y creo en las pedagogías alternativas y en nuevas formas de entender la educación.
Me apasionan las conversaciones profundas sobre la vida y los temas que invitan a la reflexión. También me fascina contemplar las estrellas por la noche, me hace sentir libre.
Bailar, el yoga y la música son mis esenciales del día a día; bailo desde los 4 años y nunca he parado. Me gradué en la escuela de arte Cours Florent de París.
Poder actuar, bailar y cantar cada día fue, sin duda, un sueño hecho realidad.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I've been teaching English, French and drama workshops in French high schools for 7 years now.
I'm fluent in both English and Spanish and I speak some Italian.
I love creating little plays with my students that we perform together afterwards. I always look for creative and innovative ways of learning.
I can also share my yoga and dancing skills - Ballet, Hip-hop and Street are my go-tos.
These sharing moments are a precious gift I cherish, learning from the people I stay with and the people I meet on the road. I enjoy cooking, sharing my recipes and discovering new local ones.
I’m always open to new experiences and picking up new skills.

Oh.... What a difficult piece to write: it should be short, concise, and to the point... but I (along with the whole family) could sing for days about what it is like to have Marie in our lives. I can say, that from the beginning, after having simply read her note of request to, maybe, stay with us - there was something in her writing and her … read more voice on paper that had me convinced this was a human we could trust (with our small children, in our home, in the car) but also... there was a twinkling sensation that this woman was supposed to be part of a family. I responded simply with "why don't we skip the writing and just talk to one another."

And there it began. She quietly swooped into our home, late one evening while the girls and I slept, and when we woke up - it was if a far away auntie had shown up after years away. She had seamlessly woven herself into our family, caught up with our quasi-chaotic lifestyle, and danced and sang and laughed along with us and the girls - and often just at the right times, when that medicine was needed.

Marie and I spent many moments letting go of the to-dos, the chores, and the next thing... to simply sit and talk and talkandtalkandtalk... about a little of it all. Open minded, spiritually in tune with her surroundings and her own interior Self, I'd also be so bold as to admit that in the three months (and then some) that we spent with Marie both her and I went through some sweet, transformative moments. Both being expats, and a long way from home, the thing that one needs most in those moments is someone who feels like home at their side.

Which is the sort of alchemy that she allows to happen in her presence.
We are honored to call her a part of our big big family that has grown with things like couch-surfing and workaway.
And, as we tend to make happen.... we look very much forward to our next European vacation, where perhaps we surprise the kids with another visit to the train to pick up a very special guest.

It has been since some weeks since we have seen her, and not three days go by that a child asks if we can call.... just to hear that voice, see that smile, and brush up with a bit of the magic that Marie tends to spread.

All of our love and absolute best wishes, for her - and the families who are so lucky as to invite her in.
