ABOUT MARIANA

I'm Mariana, a 27 years old Portuguese girl who decided to take a Gap Year to explore the world meaningfully, aiming to have true experiences with locals while contributing to a project or a community.
I’ve a degree in Hospitality Management as well as some experiences in the area - I’ve been a waiter, worked on a 5 start hotel reception and helped as a general assistant in a small hotel in the UK. After my degree I’ve decided to do a post graduation in Human Resources management and since then I’ve worked in the area for almost 5 years now, in 2 different multinational companies.
In addition to my professional path, I’ve also different passions and interests. I love cooking - mainly adapting traditional recipes into healthier and sometimes vegan versions; I love travel and connecting with different cultures - it all started during my Erasmus in Poland and so far I’ve already visited 25 countries; My best version shows up when I’m in nature - I grew up in a small town in Portugal and even thought I’ve moved to different cities later, it’s around nature that I feel truly connected with my roots; Since I was little that I loved photography, I’m not an expert but one of my hobbies is to share both my travels and my culinary adventures online - I do it on my instagram page called @myfeedchoices.

ABOUT BERNARDO

My name is Bernardo, I'm 27 years old and come from Portugal. This year I decided to quit my engineering job and take on a gap year. I have spent the last four years traveling all around the world for work, mainly Europe, Asia and America. Coming from a small town, this ignited my passion to discover more, to discover the unknown, it made me see that the world is so much more than what i was used to, i discovered new places, new cultures and new people. But it felt short and now I'm taking on this new adventure in the hopes of creating new connections with people from all around the world, see how they live, learn their culture and try to make a positive impact in their life.
I love engineering and learning how the things around us work, i love fixing broken appliances, doing maintenance work, working around the yard, all things DIY. On the other hand, having nature around me at all times is a must, that's where I go to clear my head and where I truly love spending time.
Photography is one of my other passions, I love discovering new angles and finding the beauty in everyday life.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We are a motivated and adaptable couple with experience in content creation, hospitality and hands-on support. We can help with photography, video editing, social media, writing, and basic IT tasks, as well as guest support, reception work, and customer service in hostels or guesthouses.
We are also happy to assist with DIY projects, painting and small repairs, general maintenance, kitchen help, food preparation, and vegetarian or vegan cooking. In addition to this, we both love animals so you can count on us to walk your dogs and take care of your cats.
We are responsible, open-minded, and reliable team players, always bringing a positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn and contribute wherever help is needed.
