Hi there! I'm an adventurer from New Zealand.

While I absolutely adore my beautiful homeland, my heart craves new experiences and adventures. I'm about to embark on a four-month journey through Europe and the United States before heading to Canada to live and learn to snowboard in the stunning ski fields! It'll be my first time trying any snow sport, and I can't wait.

Professionally, I'm a designer with a passion for creativity. Whether it's illustration in various mediums, graphic design, marketing, or photoshoots, I've been immersed in this world for the past four years, both freelancing and working at a firm called Ocean. I truly love what I do. In my free time, you'll often find me painting, sketching, or diving into anything artsy. I'm always eager to start new art projects and explore different mediums.

Art and design are my professional passions, but I'm equally drawn to the great outdoors. I love hiking, discovering new vistas, and engaging in various outdoor activities. Living close to forests, beaches, and lakes, I'm always surrounded by nature's beauty. Well-being is very important to me, and I enjoy Pilates, the gym, and yoga, especially in beautiful settings.

I'm a people person who deeply values connections, friendships, and family. For the past five years, I've lived in Wellington, studying and working. I shared a flat with 11 amazing people and cherished every moment of learning and growing with them. When I visit my hometown of Rotorua, I love spending time with my three energetic nephews, aged 1, 5, and 9. We have a blast playing basketball, touch rugby, and exploring the outdoors together.

Joining Workaway is a way for me to gain new perspectives and enrich my knowledge, which in turn helps me create impactful designs for my clients. It's also a path to personal fulfillment and slow travel. I look forward to trying new things and discovering new joys in life.

I’m eager to learn a new language! In New Zealand, we also speak Māori, a beautiful language that we're working hard to preserve as it faces the threat of disappearing. While it may not be the most practical language globally, I would be thrilled to share and educate others about our rich culture and heritage if they’re interested.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Design with a minor in Marketing, and I've been professionally immersed in these fields for 3-4 years, in addition to freelance projects before that. My skills span across graphic design, illustration, photography, some video production, web design, campaigns, social media, and much more!

I'm also quite hands-on, with experience in cleaning, gardening, exterior painting, and various handy work for a construction company. I've been involved in my parents' construction business since I was 14 and absolutely love it—especially painting outdoors in the sunshine.

In addition to my design work, I love interacting with people and have worked front-of-house at local tourist spots in my hometown. There, I also contributed to design and marketing, cleaning, and even some renovation projects.

I have a wealth of experience in childcare, looking after my nephews and many cousins. New Zealand has a strong family-oriented culture, and I cherish taking care of the little ones.

As a big foodie, I enjoy cooking and occasionally baking.

As a child, my mum gave me a small camera, and from then on, I discovered the profound value of photography—turning fleeting moments into lasting memories. In high school, I excelled in photography, earning top honors, and have continued to nurture this hobby in my personal life. It's something I truly love.
