Description

Hello! We’re Sabrina and Juan. We met in 2021 at the bakery that Juan and his family once had in Barcelona. Since 2023, we’ve been living in Finland, where we’ve been working in a restaurant, I work as a manager, and Juan is a very talented chef.
We both have several years of experience in different roles within the restaurant and hospitality industry, as well as in the health field. Now we’re looking for new adventures through Workaway, to learn, share, and experience different ways of living.

We’re not beginners in English anymore!!! We can understand everything quite well and communicate comfortably, but we’d still love to keep practicing to become more fluent. We’re also open to learning other languages, and we’d be happy to teach Spanish, which would be a real pleasure :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Hi! I’m Juan, born in Fray Bentos, Uruguay. From a young age, I grew up around farm life and developed a love for caring for animals. I’m also an experienced horse rider and enjoy spending time with horses.

At 13 years old , my family moved to Spain, where I became a father at 27 years old to a beautiful daughter, Arya. In 2023, We moved to Finland in search of a better quality of life and exciting new adventures.

I hold degrees in Social and Health Care for the Elderly and Cooking, and I currently work as a chef at Kuparipaja, a restaurant in Fiskars, southern Finland.

I enjoy hands-on work,home repairs, including some electricity and masonry, outdoor projects, and learning new skills. I speak Spanish, Catalan, and English, and I’d love to share my language and cultural experiences while learning from others.

Sabrina:
HOLA :) I was born in Rosario, Argentina. In 2018, I decided to travel and moved to Barcelona, where I lived for 4 years before relocating to Finland. I currently work as a manager at Kuparipaja, a cozy restaurant in Fiskars, southern Finland.

I hold an Intermediate Degree in Nutrition and Sports Dietetics, and I am currently in my 4th year of Medicine. I am also studying Phytotherapy. Additionally, I have training in laboratory techniques, administrative secretariat in medical documents, and administrative management of clinical laboratories, with basic knowledge in the distribution and handling of biological materials.

I love animals and would like to learn more about them. I also have basic skills in home repairs, including some electricity and masonry.

I trained as a swimmer for many years, and I would be happy to teach swimming. I would also love to teach Spanish, my beautiful and beloved native language, which I consider more than just a language.

We enjoy reading, cycling, and taking long walks, and we love exploring new places, especially those with rich history or abandoned charm, where the stories of the past come alive.

Juan loves art, especially painting, while I enjoy sports, healthy nutrition, and caring for plants in everyday life. Our favorite activities include water and mountain sports, but we’re eager to try many more.

We believe music is a way to channel energy, and we enjoy both the company of others and quiet moments for ourselves.

We’re curious, open-minded, and excited to learn, share our skills, and experience new cultures, bringing enthusiasm, dedication, and a positive spirit wherever we go.

We were volunteers at Hub Feenix in Finland for 3 months, gaining valuable experience and contributing to meaningful community work!!!!
