I'm seeking companions for travel who are interested in delving into the rich local culture and undiscovered natural beauty of northeastern India.

Description

"I am an introvert with a big personality. Exploring new cultures and being in nature makes me joyful. Psychology is my passion, and I love diving deep into the human mind.
I enjoy one-on-one conversations about new ideas, innovations, philosophy, and movies :). I have traveled across Europe, India, and Asia. I am a huge fan of Japanese food and have learned to cook sushi in Tokyo. Once a year, I go to the Himalayas and the Nilgiris (Mainly Ooty and around) as those are my go-to places.

I love understanding cultures, local traditions, local problems, and local farming techniques. I try to stay and be around locals as much as possible.

I have taken a break from work as I want to learn about things that I am curious about. Experimenting with vegan cooking and nutritious yet tasty eating. I am enjoying the time that I am getting to study, write, and exploring. Contemplating on all the learnings from the last decade. I am feeling very happy that I have paused for a bit :D

I am good with tools, as I have taken training during engineering and have worked on the shop/manufacturing floor for a few years.

I am a mechanical engineer (Pune) and was in france for my masters. Last couple of years I have been working in the US but remotely from India/Europe. I had my own company in fisheries a few years back, and I sold it in 2017 and entered into the field of Data Science/AI/Software. Since then, I have been selling software. I have two cats, and I stay with my family in Pune.

In my free time, I paint, read a bit, write a lot, spend time with my plants and pets.

-Growing and maintaining a garden
-House cleaning. I love cleaning. This is my most loved chore.
-Flair for handyman skills
-Comfortable using tools(Drills, Carpentry, Painting)- I do some DIY at home but I am familiar with the tools as I used them intensively during my mechanical engineering days and engineering work.

What skills I want to learn via workaway

I have taken an extremely intentional break from my corporate life. I want to learn how to live sustainably and get connected to the soil and nature. I have traveled solo via Europe, India, Japan and other places for the last 10 years. In general I am an avid traveler but since pandemic things changed and now getting back to travelling.

Looking for work away positions where life is slow and intentional.
