Description

My name is Runa. I am a 21-year-old university student from Japan. I am currently taking a gap year to travel the world, experience different cultures, and open my mind!

I grew up in a beautiful part of Japan surrounded by rich nature, which made me fall in love with fresh, delicious vegetables and the countryside lifestyle.


Since I was a little girl, I have loved helping my mother with her home vegetable garden. I also have experience helping my uncle, who is a professional farmer, with his agricultural work. Because of this, I’m not afraid of getting my hands dirty and I really enjoy working with plants and soil!

Also, I am very used to the culture of cleanliness, organizing, and being deeply respectful of other people's spaces and privacy.


I am passionate about food and cooking! I would love to learn how to cook your favorite local dishes, and in return, I would be happy to cook authentic Japanese home-style meals for you.

I am currently practicing my English. It is not perfect yet, but I have a strong desire to communicate and connect with people! I am really looking forward to having many conversations with you, sharing our stories, and learning about how farming, food, and daily life differ between Japan and your country.

Japanese (Native): I would love to teach you about Japanese language, culture, and etiquette.

English: I am currently working on improving my English and am eager to practice through daily conversation.

Chinese (Mandarin): I have a basic level of proficiency.

・ Travel & Cultural Exchange
I have spent a lot of time traveling, especially in Asia. One of my favorite places is Taiwan, where I stayed for an extended period. I’d love to share stories about my experiences there, as well as share insights into Japanese culture and daily life, as I have lived in Japan my whole life.

・Culinary & Creative Arts
Cooking is one of my passions, and I love baking sweets, too! I enjoy preparing authentic Japanese home-style meals and would love to exchange recipes or cook for you. Beyond the kitchen, I love music; I have been playing the flute for a long time and enjoy singing.

・ Farming & Animal Care
I am no stranger to hard work outdoors. My mother has always had a home vegetable garden, and I’ve been helping her since I was a little girl. I have also assisted my uncle, who is a professional farmer, so I am very comfortable with basic agricultural tasks and don't mind getting my hands dirty! Additionally, I grew up with both dogs and cats at home, so I am very experienced in taking care of pets and love being around them.

I am a quick learner and very enthusiastic about contributing to your daily life. I look forward to sharing my culture, learning from yours, and helping out in any way I can!
