I am traveling to New Zealand from January 2025 - March/April and I would love to meet new people and work on different projects, to keep busy and to see different sides of the country.

Back home, I live in a self-built tiny house on wheels in a semi-nomadic community in which everybody lives in wagons. But throughout the year, due to my work and my passion for the outdoors, I spent just as many nights in my van, which I converted into an off-grid camper.

I studied fine art, but I currently work as a freelance decorator. In summertime this means building stages for big festivals and from mid October to January I mostly work on Christmas decorations.

In my free time I love to go mountain biking and I hope that I will be able to explore many different trails while I’m in N Z. In February of this year (2024) I went on a singletrack tour in Kerala, India and this was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

Besides cycling, I like all kinds of outdoor sports, such as hiking, trail running, surfing, bouldering, skateboarding, kayaking (although I can’t say that all my attempts are successful).
I basically just enjoy being outside but I also quite love a cosy interior where I can work on my own creative projects . I have a master degree in painting but at the moment I actually prefer to work with textiles, mostly weaving.

Other things that bring me happiness are yoga, hanging out with friends, go to the sauna, and making things with my own hands.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am creative and quite handy I think, although a skilled handyman or carpenter would probably laugh at my skills, since most of the things that I usually build are meant for decoration. I did built my own trailer and campervan, but I didn’t use things like a tape measure as often as I maybe should have done.
I can work on height and drive a cherry picker; I can paint, sand, drill, screw, vacuum, cook, ride a bike, drive a car, work in the garden…
I have worked as a barista and coffee bar manager, as a hostess in a museum, as co-curator and writer in an artist collective; I have worked at a beach bar and I have worked as a florist; I’ve translated cartoons from English to Dutch (for dubbing) and currently I build stages for festivals.

Autres infos...

I’m an active, social and cheerful person, but also a a bit of an introvert. I can enjoy a nice beer or good glass of wine, and I would find it very hard to live without coffee.
