Hello this is Julia,
I am a 30 year old biologist, based in Leipzig.
I have finished my studies and am currently working for an environmental research center, but will take a break to set off again to learn more about applied sustainability.
I have volunteered one year in Greece in a National Park with the WWF and then started workaway back in 2014 and it has been such a great experience that I keep coming back to volunteering in different countries and projects. Over the years I have helped out in a vegetarian restaurant, in greenhouses and on a farm in Iceland. I worked in an Ecoresort doing housekeeping, a permaculture garden, on a macadamia nut farm and a garden project focusing on native species in New Zealand. Later I travelled to Italy to learn more about permaculture and sutainable living in different projects. More recently I have helped on a building site where we helped restore an old house with ecofriendly materials. It has been such an enrichment not only to travel to other countries, but to meet and stay with people living there, to see how they live, what projects they spend their time and dedication on. It has been a different kind of learning and growing that I very much appreciate.
I am interested in learning more about permaculture, gardening, sustainable living and building and environmental education.
I love being outside and in nature, a major motivation for me to leave the city, I enjoy hiking and canoing. I play guitar and cello and have discovered water colours and analog photography for me. I am also always interested in any kind of creative projects.
