Description

Bouke is a nature lover and working outdoors is what he loves the most. He gets joy out of working with his hands and learning something new. New experiences are what drives him most.

Liane is a traveler soul and equally interested in the outdoors. By nature she rather is a theoretical person and that is why it drives her to also explore her practical skills. She wants to learn and grow. She has a background in hospitality and can help with any tourism related work.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Bouke:
I have experience with farm work. I used to wwoof in Canada and Germany and participate in Workaways in Argentina, Nepal and Australia. I had the chance to work in different areas.
I worked on orchards taking care of trees and pruning. I layed out irrigation systems with solar pumps. I built fences, raised beds in vegetable gardens, planted various vegetables & trees.
I worked with animals (dogs, horses, cows, pigs, chicken), which I truly enjoy. I helped producing cheese.
I did mowing on tractors, worked with lawn mowers and bush-whackers. I used the chain saw to cut wood and also chopped it.
Another passion of mine is building/ constructing. So if you have interesting projects that you need help with, I am the one. Another passion of mine are boats. I'd like to build my own boat one day.

Liane:
I so far have helped on farms. I fed and looked after animals, also through the platform of Trustedhousesitters. I did some gardening. I worked some years in hospitality and taught German to kids. My biggest skill is my eagerness to learn and experience new things.
Any work related to tourism/ helping in guesthouses or resorts would be amazing.

Bouke:
I started out as a medic, worked for ages as a social therapist and I am also a breath work coach but I stopped working in 2018. I worked for 25 years for the same company and enough was enough. Time to live life to the fullest without excuses and postponements.
Since then I travel the world with Liane. We met in 2015 on a pilgrimage path called "Camino de Santiago".
We just finished hiking a big part of the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada and would like to explore parts of Asia now by diving deeper than just visiting the sites but also experience culture, the people and giving purpose to our travels.

Liane:
I worked as a job counselor in schools and helped youngsters finding their career path. When life gave me lemons in 2013 I started to apply for a leave of absence to get as much distance as possible between me and my life that I was leading till then. That's when the travel bug got to me and ever since traveling never really stopped.
During our travels I worked online as a sales coach and also in hospitality (waitress in a restaurants, butler on cruise ships).

We don't like to mindlessly backpacking anymore. We get joy out of truly experiencing new places and connecting with people. Workaway helps us giving meaning to our travels and diving deeper into places and culture.

Usually we travel by van or by boat so any Workaway related to fixing up boats or vans are a win in the lottery. We also like working for resorts/ guesthouses or anything related to animal care and farm stays.
