Hello!

My name is Laura. I’m a happy, social, and cheerful person who wants to experience the world while travelling—not just in the traditional way, which is why I want to become a Workawayer. I love travelling, and one of the main reasons is that I find it incredibly rewarding and inspiring to learn about different cultures and meet new people.

Back home in Denmark, I work as both a full-time and part-time firefighter. I would say my English is quite good, and I’m a quick learner who isn’t afraid to roll up my sleeves and try something new. I enjoy challenging myself, and I’m always open to learning new skills and gaining new experiences.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As a firefighter, I’m used to handling a wide variety of tasks. My job includes using different tools and equipment, solving practical problems, and working efficiently both independently and as part of a team. I’m comfortable with physically demanding work and enjoy tasks that require practical skills and hands-on problem-solving.

I have also worked as a firefighter instructor, teaching new firefighters and helping experienced colleagues maintain their skills through regular training.

Previously, I worked for the Danish Emergency Management Agency, where I gained experience in emergency response and practical problem-solving. I have also worked full-time as a caregiver in a residential facility for people with acquired brain injuries, which taught me patience, responsibility, and the importance of adapting to different people and situations.

As I mentioned earlier, I’m a quick learner and genuinely enjoy learning new skills. I take pride in doing things properly, whether it’s practical work, helping others, or taking on something completely new. I’m not afraid of hard work, and I always try to approach new challenges with a positive attitude and a smile.

Outside of work, I’m a very family-oriented person and really value spending quality time with the people I care about. I appreciate being present, enjoying the little moments, and making meaningful connections with others.

I also enjoy staying active and have a passion for fitness. I do CrossFit regularly and like challenging myself both physically and mentally. Having an active lifestyle gives me a lot of energy, and I’m always happy to get involved in practical work and spend time outdoors.

For me, Workaway is not just about travelling—it’s about meeting new people, experiencing everyday life in a different culture, and contributing wherever I can. I hope to create genuine connections and make the most of every experience along the way.
