Hi, I'm Laura a Finn and an avid traveller! I have lived abroad in the UK and in Malta. I'm currently in my second year of agricultural and rural industries study program. While studying I'm also working two jobs.

Hi, I'm Markus a fellow Finn and an adventurer. I enjoy exploring new places with my motorbike on land and with my boat out on the Baltic sea. I've worked abroad in Swedish and Norwegian Lappland. Like my partner I'm also currently working two jobs.

The plan is to take a break from our busy life in Finland and come and see the nature and its wonders in Canada. Two things on my (Lauras) bucket list are to see whales and sequoia trees! CAN'T WAIT!

I (Laura) have used Workaway before while travelling in Vietnam and Cambodia, and I found it really helped getting to know the local people. We really enjoy meeting new people and swapping life stories.

Together we have fallen in love with sailing and now own a small sailboat. Our sailing experience consist of three seasons in the Baltic sea and sailing as a part of a small crew in the Caribbean for a month. We would love to have an opportunity to maybe join a crew also in Canada for a little while.

We are arriving in Canada with IEC-visas and are interested in travelling and hiking in and around the East Coast of Canada.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Laura: * Worked in the restaurant and hospitality business for ten years (Finland, England)
* Has degree in horticulture production
* Runs a one-woman business offering floristry services for private events, also advicing and building garden pieces for private home-owners
* Works as a product developer in the food industry
* We live in the Finnish country side and farm a small field for our own use.( Vegetables, berries )

Markus:
*Wide experience in the construction industry. Working as a crane operator and in special transports moving and off-loading extra large construction pieces. (For example building wind farms in Sweden and Norway.)
* Current job involves driving trucks and operating truck cranes.
* Loves anything with a motor - knows his way around motorcycle, car and boat engines.
* Runs a business importing professional forestry machines. Like firewood prosessors and forestry trailers.
* Very handy - We are in the prosses of building a new sauna building on our backyard.
*Has been spending a lot of time out at the Baltic sea since childhood. Has good navigational skills.
* Has worked as an electrician.
* We also make our own firewood (used in sauna and fireplace)
