Hi! I am a detail oriented, organized, personable, self-starter who loves variety and change. I am new to Workaway, so please let me know if there is anything you want me to share, just ask! I am all about open communication as it ensures everyone is on the same page. I am on Workaway and WWOOF and have wanted to do work exchange since I learned a year ago that it existed, and my schedule is now finally opening up to allow me to explore it! I do work remotely a few hours a month, so will need access to internet or cell service, but those hours can be very flexible and done on my own time, and my priority will be working with you. While I am new to work exchange, I am not new to shared living having been nomadic in the U.S. for 1.5 years now, sleeping everywhere from friend’s couches to my own rental unit, and usually something in between (e.g. room in a house, shared bathroom). I have also been volunteering off and on as I am able since last fall (and a lot more in past years). I enjoy travel, history, getting outside, being social, and also enjoy alone time reading, walking, and contemplating. My goal is to find community-oriented work and hosts, sharing work and meals and stories. I am excited to begin my work exchange journey!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a hard worker and jump all in to my tasks. If I don't know something, I am excited to learn it. I currently work in accounting, but also have experience in project management, administrative work, child care, archaeology, and retail sales. I am also really good at keeping tasks and priorities straight, and can manage processes well. I love animals, and had a dog for 9.5 years and love caring for animals and working with people. I enjoy using my skills, but also want to get outside those paths and expand my knowledge, working more with different animals, DIY, construction/maintenance, fiber arts, food use and preservation, gardening, farming, etc. I have a lot of life skills that can translate to many different adventures and have learned the key is doing meaningful activities that I know are expanding and/or helping others and myself. My most recent volunteer work was at an urban farm where I helped prep orchard basins (digging, leveling, placing line levels), weeding, irrigation repair, prepping rows (irrigation removal, weeding, adding compost, using a broadfork to mix soil and compost), and planting seeds and small starts. I also recently volunteered at a non-profit that provides horse-based therapy to humans, assisting the development team with everything from working outside painting obstacles for horse/rider activities and cleaning saddles, to various inside projects such as online article pulls, photographing donated auction items, scanning photos, stuffing envelopes, data entry, card writing, photo sorting, document cutting, etc.
