Hi There, we`re Bori and Krisz, a friendly and open-minded couple from Hungary. We try to find various ways of travelling and getting to know places and cultures around the world. We both prefer to learn how locals experience life in the places we visit. When possible we try to hitchhike and either camp in nature or do couchsurfing. So far, we haven`t done any workawaying but we see it as an amazing opportunity to collect even more unique experiences and knowledge. While we mostly travel together, sometimes we do it solo. Let us tell a bit about ourselves.

Bori: I’ve just finished my degree in graphic design and would like to get away from the big city. I have always lived in Budapest, but I love travelling and meeting new people and cultures. I want to try workawaying as a way of getting away from my ‘normal’ life, gaining new experiences and learn new skills (especially about farming and animals). I’m a creative, artsy and empathetic person, in my free time, I enjoy being with friends, gardening, hiking, horse riding, camping, bouldering, painting, going to concerts, playing board games, etc. I love being surrounded by animals and plants, and would like to experience a slower way of living.

Krisz: I recently finished my studies in sustainable development and can`t wait to learn more and put it into practice through workaway. I`m quite an active person. I enjoy doing sports (rollerskating, bouldering, running, surfing, etc.), working on DIY projects (so far, I`ve built some basic furniture and a compost bin), cooking, and some veggie gardening on my balcony or windowsill. I also find music, board games, documentaries, and cultural exchange exciting. I grew up in a big city but have lived in smaller towns and with farmers in a remote Ecuadorian location. I`ve lived with my family, friends, students and my girlfriend. So I have tons of experience with all sorts of living arrangements.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Bori:
- I have a degree in graphic design, and communication and media studies. I would be happy to do any kind of graphic design work, art projects, or managing social media/websites. I’m a visual and creative person so I would be more than happy to do any kind of art project
- I have hospitality experience (worked in a hostel as a receptionist for 2+ years)
- I have basic knowledge of animal care, houseplants and gardening, but would love to learn more

Krisz:
- I have a master`s degree in environmental engineering with a special focus on energy and resource management, but I have a lot of knowledge on most aspects of sustainability. I`d be more than happy to work on such projects both in the design phase and the actual installation
- I like building basic furniture (mostly from pallets and other wood I find on the street) and also do a lot of maintenance around the house. Currently, together with my family, we are rebuilding a house
- My experience with growing food is limited, but I grew veggies in containers for many years, and this year, I started a small garden in the countryside together with Bori where we also built a lovely compost bin
