Description

We are Kristian (29) and Welmoed (28) from the Netherlands. When we met five years ago we found each other in our love of art, music, culture, nature and the curiosity to discover new things. We have been living together in the city of Rotterdam very happily but now we are looking for a new adventure. We both grew up surrounded by nature and we would like te get more in touch with nature again.  
 
We both enjoyed traveling and have made some amazing trips al over the world. Soon after we met we made a wonderful trip through South-East Asia. A great experience that made us realise how valuable it is to spend a temporary stay in a place you don't know and to learn from others' experiences and way of life. It was an experience that reinforced our shared desire to live and work abroad for an extended period of time. 
 
This year we decided to give up our home and embark on a journey through southern Europe. We are very much looking forward to getting to know new people and places through Workaway, developing new skills and, with our own skills, contributing to some amazing projects.  
 
Welmoed: 
I grew up in the north of the country, in the middle of meadows. My parents had a large garden and through them I inherited a love of nature. And although I now live in the city, I like to seek out nature. I like taking long walks and visit museums and reading books. Also I enjoy being creative with different kinds of projects (like painting and writing) and to practice yoga and pilates. People will describe me as an enthusiastic person, someone who is very open minded, curious and interested in exploring new situations and meeting new people. I love organising; from activities with friends/family to events in my work for cultural organisations.

I worked as a producer for events and film/photography productions, projectmanager at a cultural membership and I currently work as a marketeer at a major dance company. I also co-developed an arts platform for refugees and held regular jobs in the hospitality industry.
 
Kristian: 
Growing up near the shore and surrounded by woods, I spend 11 years working as a lifeguard and maintaining and preserving the beach and dunes as a summerjob.
After graduating from college with a bachelors degree in economics I've had different jobs in fashion between traveling and my summerjob on the beach.

Four years ago I decided to turn my passion into my career and I have been working as a furniture and interior maker/designer since then. I’m a very creative person who loves designing and building things and would love to be able to combine this with my interests in nature preservation and sustainable living. I’m very eager to learn new skills and crafts and hopefully can teach some of my skills and knowledge.

Autres infos...

In our spare time we enjoy going to concerts and theatre, visiting museums and going to markets and vintage shops where we collect vinyl records (kristian) and cd's (welmoed) and books. We always look forward to the weekends we can spend with our family in the countryside and to spend time with our nieces and nephews. We love playing boardgames together or with friends.
