Description

I've been travelling slowly since 2017 (with some years back home in South Africa during Covid) and love using Workaway to connect with like-minded people, learn new skills, and help develop meaningful local projects. As a digital nomad, I have experience in online marketing and am self-taught in many things due to being a social entrepreneur. I'm now very interested in developing farming skills, and recently completed a short course in Permaculture Design. My dream is to one day grow my own food and open a cosy guesthouse/workshop space in nature that is filled with creativity and authentic expression. Until then, I will keep wandering the world contributing to other amazing projects and soaking up all that life has to offer!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm a language instructor, social entrepreneur and lover of all things creative. Apart from blogging, photography and basic website skills, I also have experience working in hostels, TEFL teaching, and will happily do editing and proofreading work, or help with social media marketing. My current focus is deepening my knowledge and skills around permaculture farming and gardening as I'd love to grow my own vegetables, fruit and herbs one day. I have basic knowledge in permaculture design after completing a short in-person course, but would love to get my hands dirty and learn in a practical way. I'd also love to learn natural building. Another skill I'd love to learn is woodwork and carpentry - I've taken a beginner woodworking course before and am very interested in expanding my knowledge of this and other DIY crafts. I also enjoy cooking and can whip up simple but tasty vegetarian dishes :) In my free time I enjoy watercolour painting and creative writing.

Since I've been travelling full-time for the past few years, I've have stayed in countless guesthouses, homestays, and hostels. Thus I know what backpackers/travellers want and can give advice if you're looking to make your accommodation even better for guests! I also love interacting with people from all nationalities, cultures and age groups and find that the connections I make with others is often the highlight of my travels in a place. I'm very open-minded, spiritually engaged, personal development-focused and conscious about making a positive impact both in my work and everyday life.
