Current availability starting int he winter of 2026. Presently have exchanges set up through Dec/Jan 25/26. Spent the fall looking after a villa in Lake Como. Headedto Albania to renew our passports in November and do some house/pet sitting until March. April to May we did a house/pet sitting in Capadoccia, Turkey 🇹🇷 for 2 months. We’re spending the summer looking after a property in Hvar Croatia. 🇭🇷 Late Augsut we head to Montenegro and sail off through Italy, Malta and on to Tunisia.
Just a long note about us so you know that we're serious and intend on helping you, not vacationing on your time.
After a regular and successful life, living in Maui Hawaii, when I was 36, my sister passed away. She passed away in 2008 at 38yrs old so I felt it my duty to start fulfilling my dreams right away. In 2009 I quit the normal life and bought a little sailing boat and sailed from the western US, down to Mexico, through the South Pacific islands and on to Asia for 10 years. Living on a yacht significantly reinforced our dedication to conservation efforts of water and electricity and everything along this journey. What a life experience! We helped out along the way in a few places. Help exchanges have been a state of mind along our journey and just mentioning the concept has enriched our lives in many ways. We helped at a few resorts and properties along our sailing voyage in Mexico, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Malaysia and Cambodia.
Serendipity struck on the shores of Koh Chang in the Gulf of Thailand when a chance encounter led to an offer to manage a Yacht Charter company, catapulting us into a fun role as Base Managers. We looked after 12 yachts and took charge of welcoming owners and international clients, imparting sailing wisdom, and crafting an exceptional cruising guide. Bill expertly navigated sailing lessons, captained private charters, and provided invaluable assistance with maintenance.
They sent us to Croatia to charter tradeshows which allowed us to meet other companies and eventually we moved to Puerto Rico with the largest yacht charter company in the world. But thier focus was making money more than making clients happy so we moved on.
Luckily at that time a friend needed to take his boat from Amsterdam to the Black Sea along the rivers and through the canals of Europe and we had bicycles to explore all the little villages we passed through, what an incredible journey. That was by far the trip of a lifetime even after sailing the 7 Seas!
We did some help exchanges after that in Turkey(2), Greece and Croatia. Restoring old furniture and creating a stone pathway, helping run a small resort, rebuilding a rooftop terrace and emptying, cleaning and painting a house. We planned to return to Croatia but would spend the winter in Mexico, then covid. When we could, we headed back to Croatia where we volunteered for an NGO, running boat trips to clean the sea of rubbish. We took people island hoping in exchange for their help cleaning the shorelines.
After that it was off to Morocco, back to Europe, off to the South Pacific for some more sailing and then on to Belize to watch over a rental property.
Our professional backgrounds are as varied as our travels, encompassing hospitality, travel agent, mortgage banking, childcare, boat chartering, accounting, and caregiving of people, homes/resorts and pets. Bill also has experience in building houses and the things inside it, solar, landscaping, sailing instructor, training teams, horticulture, great cook, has a green thumb in the garden and if you have the tools, he can fix or build anything.
Riding bicycles and long walks keep us busy and we enjoy drawing, writing, cooking, playing guitar and yoga.
We're a great team and we are eager to continue our journey toward self-sustainability on land, armed with adaptability, quick learning abilities, and open minds. Together, we bring a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication, always ready to embark on the next chapter of our lifes adventure.Centres d’intérêt

We know a little bit of a lot of languages from traveling. Spanish and french are known a little. We’ve got by in Germany as well but we’re not having long conversations in other languages. Traveling to so many different countries makes it hard to learn them all😅.Compétences et connaissances que nous aimerions partager ou apprendre

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I have been traveling the past 15+ years and have had a chance to stop and also be a helper in a few different places. Lots of them happened just mentioning the idea of what help exchanging is about.
We can look after properties and pets, help build things, cook, clean anything, wait tables, operate a business, care for people/animals/boats, hospitality, horticult, plumb, electrify, landscape, what ever you need, between my partner and myself we can help you. With diverse backgrounds in hospitality, travel, construction, and more, we bring a dynamic skill set, boundless enthusiasm, and a passion for sustainable living to every endeavor.Âge

Autres infos...
We’re happy in a busy place or an isolated village/island but we prefer to have our own accommodation if possible. Very clean and tidy with much respect for hosts and peoples property. Having bicycles is ideal, or even a car, and we could be interested in buying something if it's long term.
