I live in one of India’s busy cities (Ahmedabad) where everything moves fast. People are always chasing something. Deadlines, growth, the next milestone. In all of that, nature slowly becomes something you only see on screens or during the occasional short break. You don’t realise how much you miss it until you actually stop for a moment.

After my last trip to Europe, I came back and started my digital marketing agency, Bleqk Media. It began with just me. Over the course of 2.5 years, it grew into a team of 15+ people. We’ve worked with great brands, delivered strong results, and built something I’m genuinely proud of.

But building something from scratch comes with a side people don’t really talk about.

There are long nights where your mind just doesn’t switch off. There are moments of doubt that you keep to yourself. There are sacrifices that no one sees. On the outside, things might look like they’re moving well. Inside, it can feel very different. There is a certain emptiness that creeps in while you are scaling. It is hard to explain, but if you have built something on your own, you probably understand it.

Somewhere in that process, I feel like I lost touch with a part of myself. The part that was curious, open, and just happy experiencing life without constantly thinking about what’s next.

Before that feeling takes over completely, I want to pause.

And when I do that... I want to wake up somewhere new. Be around people I don’t already know. Learn things I have never tried before. Spend more time outdoors. Challenge myself in simple, real ways. Slow down and feel present again.

I am planning to do this around June 2026, hopefully somewhere in Nordics.

For me, this is not just about travel. It is about reconnecting with myself, with people, and with the kind of experiences that remind you what life is actually about.

As for how I can contribute, I can help with marketing in a very real, hands-on way. I run (the best) digital marketing agency, so whether it is social media, content creation, positioning, or just making something look and communicate better, I can add value. We have done strong work for brands, and won quite a few awards.

At the same time, I am not someone who thinks I know everything. If there is something new, I am always open to learning and getting involved. :)

On a personal level, I am respectful, easy to get along with, and I keep things clean and simple. I enjoy good conversations and I do have a few stories to share from my experiences so far.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Professionally, I run a digital marketing agency called Bleqk Media. We help businesses grow by bringing in more customers and building a strong presence online. My work mainly revolves around social media marketing, brand building, personal branding, design, and video content.

Over time, I’ve had the chance to work with some great brands and people. A few of our projects have reached a wide audience and performed really well, which has been rewarding to see.

That said, I don’t see myself as someone who knows everything. I value learning more than anything. If something is new to me, I am always willing to give it a try and figure it out. That process of learning, making mistakes, and improving is something I genuinely enjoy.

Besides work, I enjoy cooking as well. I can make a few really good Indian dishes, and it’s something I like sharing with people. I have hosted on Couchsurfing before, and the food has always been appreciated.

This was my second Workaway experience, and I can genuinely say it was one of those experiences that reminds you why you signed up for Workaway in the first place.

When people ask me how it was, I honestly don't know where to start because it had a little bit of everything. Great … read more conversations, meaningful projects, good food, beautiful surroundings, cultural exchange, and plenty of memorable moments in between. Looking back, it feels less like a stay and more like a chapter of life that I'll remember for a long time.

Alex was kind, welcoming, and helpful from day one. What I appreciated most was his patience. There were tasks and projects that were completely new to me, but he never made me feel inexperienced or out of place. Instead, he took the time to explain things properly, answer questions, and teach me along the way. That made the experience not only enjoyable but also genuinely educational.

The property itself is beautiful and creates the perfect environment to both work and relax. The projects were interesting and gave me the opportunity to learn new skills while contributing something meaningful. At the same time, there was always room to enjoy life outside of work.

Some of my favorite memories are actually the simple ones. Taking a dip in the river after a productive day, cooking meals together, going for walks, sitting down for long conversations, sharing stories, and learning about each other's cultures. Those are the moments that make Workaway special, and there were plenty of them here.

As someone traveling from a completely different part of the world, I really enjoyed the cultural exchange. I learned a lot about local traditions, daily life, ways of thinking, and the culture in general. At the same time, I had the chance to share stories and experiences from my own background. Those exchanges often became some of the most interesting parts of the day.

One thing I can say with confidence is that there was never a dull moment. Whether we were working on a project, discussing ideas, exploring the area, preparing food, or simply talking about life, there was always something happening. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and welcoming throughout my stay.

When I arrived, I was hoping for a good Workaway experience. When I left, I felt like I was taking home much more than that. I left with new experiences, new knowledge, great memories, and a deeper appreciation for the value of meeting people from different backgrounds.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have stayed with Alex and would happily recommend him as a host to anyone considering a Workaway. If you are looking for a place where you can learn, contribute, enjoy meaningful conversations, experience cultural exchange, and create lasting memories, you will be in good hands here.
