Hi everybody, my name is Katrin, I am happy that you are taking an interest in me and my profile.
I am 25 years ol and I live in a small town near Hamburg (Germany) together with my boyfriend and my two beloved cats. At the moment I am studying to become a primary teacher but I would love to spend some time abroad in order to make some new experiences and improve my language skill.

I am a very nature loving person who cares a lot for the environment (one reason why I decided to become vegan eight years ago). Additionally, I care for animals and the people surrounding me. I love spending time in my mothers garden, growing some vegetables, fruit and other plants that help maintaining a healthy ecosytem. Apart from that I enjoy hiking, riding my bike, exploring nature and dancing.
I would describe myself as a hands on person that likes to engage in creative activities. Another hobby I am quite fond of is handcraftig, especially chrocheting.
Seeing that the things I do have a positive impact (on the environment, other people, animals) makes me happy. Therefore, I like to engage in voluntary work. Currently I am supporting a third grader once a week to improve his reading skills in school. Besides that, I am an active member of the urban gardening project at our university.
Although I might come across a bit shy at the beginning, I like getting to know new people and other ways of living. Which is why I'll never say no to a nice board game evening.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

some general skills of mine:
-crocheting (handcraftig)
-gardening (although it is sometimes by the motto trial and error)
-empathy (I have a big heart, especially for animals)
-lots of experience in caring for cats, some experience in caring for dogs
-experience in caring for children
-good listener

Also, I could offer teaching German, since it is my mother-tongue and one of the subjects I am studying is German.

Besides that I have private experience in caring for elderly people. At least twice a year I visit my grandma (who lives 7 hours aways by train) for one or two weeks each. Usually I am there to keep her company, run some errands, help her take care of her household, medications etc. Usually my aunt takes care of her, but since both my grandma and my aunt took care of me when I was younger I am happy to help them out, now that I am older.
I have beginner skills in building. A few years ago my boyfriend and I helped my boyfriend's father to construct a carport. Please note that I only did minor things like preparing and painting the construction wood, digging holes, carrying and lifting materials, thightening some screws etc.
However, I am happy to acquire new skills that are needed.
