Hi, my name is Katelijne, I am 35years old and come from Belgium. Back home I've studied communication and did several office jobs, but they didn't fullfill me. That's why last year, I have given myself "a year off work" to experience farm live, live close to nature and learn new skills. I love animals and like to work with them and be around them. As I worked as a cowgirl in Canada (2015) and Australia (2012), I do have experiences with horses.

This year (oct2024-2025) I will work halftime as a digital nomad and am looking for a farm or housesitting where I can work half time, preferably taking care of animals. I prefer to have my own living space and cook for myself. So ideally, I am looking for a house- and petsitting opportunity in Norway.

Some more about me:

I like to be active and outside in nature and live with the seasons. My favorite season is autumn when everything starts to become quiet, the leaves turn so beautifully yellow and red and you start to prepare yourself for winter while enjoying the autumn sun. That's why I would also love to learn how to cut down trees, make firewood, getting the hay or animals in for the winter. I would like to learn how to drive a tractor, to learn some carpentry and to care of the animals. That's why I mostly look at farms to work on.

I am open to know other people and would like to get to know Norway from the inside (not just like a tourist). Nevertheless, I do like to spend some time by myself and need some alone time now and than :)
I am caring and responsible and can work together with others as well as alone.

I would love to learn better to crosscountry ski! In my freetime back home I used to cycle, swim and run. I like to go hiking with friends or go camping in nature.

I have travelled in New Zealand and Australia with helpx and woofing in 2011-2012 and in Canada in 2015, so I am used to the concept :) There, I also worked on farms and ranches and experienced my dream to work as a cowgirl :)

I don't smoke, nor do I drink alcohol.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As I already did some volunteering I already worked with animals, cleaned stables, fed animals, looked after gardens, helped putting up fences, mustered cattle on horseback and did some general maintenance jobs.

However, I would like to learn new things and develop new skills: for example to learn how to cut down trees, make firewood, getting the hay or animals in for the winter. I would like to learn how to drive a tractor, to learn some carpentry and to take care of animals.
