I have grown up in an area with lots of hiking, so I love to be in the outdoors and go backpacking whenever I can. I love eating great food, and exploring all sorts of cultures however I am able to!

Description

I absolutely love to travel because it enables me to dive into different cultures that are unique from my own. I am a very adventurous person, and love to try new things; whether its food, hiking, or getting to know people! Where I am from there are lots of mountains and outdoor recreation activities, so I get outside a lot and absolutely love the outdoors. I am hoping to find a place to stay and help out for 1-2 weeks in the spring season of 2024, so that I can explore a new country and see what else is out there.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

This past fall, I traveled to South America and volunteered with Workaway twice in Ecuador. The first time I volunteered at an English school in Latacunga for a week, and helped teach English to young students. It was a lot of fun and very rewarding to be able to get to know the kids in the city, and be able to help out!
The second time I volunteered at a surf hostel in Montanita Ecuador, and only ended up staying for a week instead of two due to difficult circumstances. I was pretty uncomfortable being a single woman in this town and didn't feel very safe, so I decided to leave early. However, the work was mainly cleaning and making beds and such.
Overall, I am very hard working, organized, honest, and optimistic, and I strive to do the best no matter the job. I will always bring a positive attitude to a situation and generally have an optimistic outlook on life, which lets me get along with lots of people! I love socializing, learning new skills, and being outdoors in any way that I can! I am very easy going, and will always get a job done.

I am on my gap year right now before diving back into school in the fall, and have been traveling and working all around the world! This past fall I traveled to South America where I visited Ecuador, Peru and Chile. While I was there I volunteered a couple of times, and enjoyed experiencing everything I could from all of the cultures that I encountered. My favorite places I visited were backpacking in Peru, and exploring the Atacama desert in Chile.

Then this winter I worked at a ski area in Utah for 5 months and skied and worked to my hearts content!

I hope to have one final hurrah solo trip to Portugal this spring/summer to end my gap year on a high note, and volunteering would be an amazing way to help this become a reality!
