I am 25 F, a curious and passionate traveller who thrives in community environments where I’m able to serve a cause my heart is behind.
I graduated from UBC with a bachelors in environmental sustainability, and have been extremely passionate about nature and animals from a very young age. I have 15+ years of experience working and volunteering at various animal shelters and pet service industries caring for dogs, cats, birds and many other animals.

I am also an artist and classical/modern musician who loves to sing, play piano, and create artwork to share with others. My other interests include spirituality, yoga & meditation, reading, and outdoor recreational activities.

My previous experiences with volunteer exchange have allowed me to experience a very intimate connection to the community and culture of wherever I am travelling. It is incredibly fulfilling for me to give back to a community which inspires me and aids my growth, and because of this I consider myself to be a very loyal and hardworking volunteer.
Over the last couple years I've been travelling exclusively to do volunteer work, through Workaway and other independent platforms. I've volunteered through Workaway in Europe, helping to run a dog/animal rescue, as well as providing animal care for other hosts, and helping with outdoor DIY projects such as landscaping.

I've also done several work exchange programs, including the volunteer program at Isha Yoga Center, India. Where I worked in food services, farming/agriculture, customer services, and volunteer coordination. I also participated in the work exchange program at PachaMama eco village in Costa Rica. Where I worked in food/customer services, farming/agriculture and artwork & painting!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have 5 years experience teaching and coordinating youth programs related to animal welfare education while working for the BCSPCA. During my time here I taught groups of ~25 children ages 7-15 about animal behaviour, training and welfare. I was also responsible for leading a team of 4-5 employees, delegating tasks and building class schedules.
I also have experience working in the pet services industry, leading packs of 6 dogs (all various sizes, breeds, and behavioural issues) on 90 minute off-leash hikes. I also offered private walks for dogs with behavioural issues, working on redirecting negative or dangerous behaviour and practicing commands/building positive habits using positive reinforcement training.

I also have 3+ years experience working in the customer service industry, working in retail as a sales associate, as well as working in the food services industry.

Currently I woke remotely and am self-employed, teaching english classes to international students online.
