Description

Hi! I’m Kara, a nature-loving adventurer with a background in environmental sustainability. After several years in a corporate career helping companies reduce their environmental impact, I’ve decided to step out from behind the desk and reconnect more directly with the natural world.

I’m passionate about marine conservation, ecological restoration, and anything that involves being outdoors—whether it’s working on coastal projects, hiking through remote landscapes, or getting my hands dirty planting trees.

Now, I’m seeking hands-on experiences that contribute positively to people and our planet. I bring with me:

- PADI Rescue Diver and Emergency First Aid Responder certification

- Level 2 Powerboat license

- VHF Radio Controller certification

- A strong understanding of sustainability, climate action, and ecosystems

- A deep respect for local cultures and community-based environmental work

- A positive, can-do attitude and love for meaningful hard work

Marine Science – Academic and practical background in ocean ecosystems, marine biodiversity, and field research

Coral Restoration – Experienced in coral planting techniques, including coral fragging, nursery maintenance, and reef rehabilitation

Marine Conservation – Strong understanding of conservation principles, marine protected areas, and community-based initiatives

Powerboat operator - Certified Level 2 Powerboat operator and I hold a VHF Radio licence

Sailing (Beginner) – Basic sailing skills and growing experience as a crew member; eager to build sea confidence

Environmental Sustainability (Corporate) – Several years in the sustainability sector, managing strategy, reporting, and impact assessments

Data Collection & Analysis – Skilled in scientific data gathering, GPS/mapping, and simple ecological monitoring tools

Teamwork & Cross-Cultural Communication – Comfortable working in diverse teams and rural/coastal environments

Outdoor & Manual Work – Enthusiastic about physical tasks in nature, from beach cleanups to trail maintenance
