Hi there, we are Kandis and Anne! Kandis hails from the rocky mountains of Canada, and Anne is from Germany, but has been living in Canada for the last few years. We have been living in a community for people with diverse abilities for the last 3 years. Anne worked as a house coordinator in one of the community homes where she supported community members with disabilities in all faucets of life. Kandis managed the 2 acre market garden and gardening workshops for people who lived in the community. We are spending 2025 travelling Europe as well as spending time in Germany with Anne's family and friends.
We have brought our dog Lily with us from Canada. Lily is a 1.5 year old, 22kg golden retriever x australian shepherd. She is a wonderful, quiet and very relaxed dog. She was raised on a farm with large livestock and birds, so she is very used to being around farm animals. She has all of her updated vaccines and is spayed. A very laid back gal.
Lily also loves sticks, children and other dogs (although she understands to leave the dogs alone who don't want to play). She is very attached to us and pretty much follows us wherever we go. Some of our favourite time is spent taking long hikes with Lily.
Although our primary interest is working on farms to learn from and meet other farmers, we are open to a multitude of experiences. We are hard working and easy going people.
We are thrilled to be in Europe and keen to experience new cultures, meet new people and fully immerse ourselves in local life :).

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Kandis:
I have spent the last 4 years working on organic farms. I managed a 2-acre market vegetable garden on Vancouver Island, Canada. The garden was a part of an intentional community of about 50 people, about half of whom had special needs. My job was to provide daily gardening workshops for the community members of diverse abilities, grow enough vegetables to sustain the community and sell to the nearby town. The garden fed the community, supplied a CSA of 15 people, and sold at a weekly farmers market.
I have some woodworking experience- mostly building and repairing raised garden beds, greenhouses and fencing.
I have experience taking care of livestock including sheep, cattle, chickens, and donkeys.
I have extensive experience driving 4 wheel and 2 wheel tractors.
I am fluent in English and can speak a small amount of German.
Anne:
I am a social worker by trade. I have experience supporting people with special needs, cooking for 5-10 people at a time, cooking for people requiring special diets, gardening work. I enjoy working outside, am a hard worker, and excited to help out where I can.
