I´m interested in foreign countries and people and try to find a new job that makes me happy. Important for me is to work with people and I want to make a difference.

Description

Hey! My name is Josef and I love to travel and get to know new countries, cultures und people. Because of Corona I decided to quit my job 2020 and to begin a sabbatical - especially to look for a new orientation in work.

My first project was spending 8 weeks in the beginning of 2021 as a volunteer in different game reserves in Zululand in South Africa and after that I did the Garten Route with a rented car. During this time the "Africa virus" infected me. I was sooo impressed by the nature - the landscape and the animals - and also the people (so kind and helpful). When I´m in Africa I feel free and so energetic, that it was going to be my second home now.

At the beginning of 2022 I started my first workawayer experiences - around 8 weeks in a hotel in The Drakensberge in South Africa and 4 weeks in lodge in Botswana. At the end of both trips the owners offered me to come back - what I did.

From the end of June to the end of December last year I spent my time in the hotel in the Drakensberge - to structure the maintenance and to guide the staff of 9 people. It was a great experience, especially to work with the people, to encourage and to develop them. I was able to move a lot and also found some friends there.

It was very difficult for me to leave them, but it showed me that a part of my heart is now in Africa and I have to come back as soon as possible.

Therefore I´m looking for my next adventure - favoured in Namibia (it´s on my bucket list since a long time) and, if possible, in a game reserve. But I´m also openminded for a stay in other African countries.

Since I´m still in my sabbatical I´m flexibel according to the start and duration (for at least one month).

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I worked for more than 35 years in different institutes of the financial sector - always in sales because I love helping people and to interact with them. I leaded branches and was also self-employed. I collected many experiences and I like use them in every new situation.

It´s very imported for me to be honest, fair and to think outside the box.

I´m very good in analysing situations, organisation and structuring.

During the volunteering in the game reserves I noticed that I´m still flexibel and good at improvising. And I also liked body work - especially when you see the result (for example: preparing a new boma).

Therefore I´m interested people I´m also emphatic.

Especially during the last half year as a maintenance manager in a hotel I worked very close with the local staff - but more in a team, what I really like.

Although I´m already 58 years old I feel more than 40. I think it´s because I´m doing fitness and yoga nearly every day, openminded and like to act with younger people.

I travelled to more than 36 countries but I´m still courious and think I will never be to old for new things. According to food I love to taste everything. The only requirement is that the food should not walk any more (smile)!!!

My motto is "Life is beautiful!" and make decisions!
