Description

Ben and I (Josey) are about to have a year travelling, starting with Japan. It will be our first time doing workaway and really excited to start.
Being outdoors and in nature brings us happiness and makes us feel alive. You can often find our lovely family either on the water in canoes, sailing boats or swimming; equally so walking on the moors or coast path. Covid has led me to enjoy gardening and now love my roses.
I work in a community hospital as an occupational therapist with people who have had had strokes. I love it but need a good dose of nature to keep me balanced.
Ben works as a carpenter some photos of his work should be in our profile pictures.
Whilst we were both born in London we have lived our adult lives in the countryside as we find smaller towns have a stronger community. We can't wait to discover yours.

English is our native language and we are very happy to help others improve theirs. We are trying to learn French as we are part of an exchange scheme with our town. It would be amazing to learn some Japanese as language integral part of a cultural experience. However we are aware that learning languages is not our strong point!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Ben is an amazing cook, experienced carpenter and dog whisperer.
I (Josey) am very practical, crafter and help with DIY. I was a youth worker and am now a occupational therapist (helping people with neurological difficulties to do the things they want or need to do).
We both love children, ours are now grown up but we are kept busy with our god children. We love to be in the outdoors and met canoeing.

We are taking a year off as our careers are established; daughter is happy and grown up; and something we've always wanted to do. Japan is top of our list and we would like to get to know the county and people, not just see the sights.
When at home we watch a lot films of all genre's. Our taste in music with everything from Basement Jaxx to 3DaftMonkeys to Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
More likely you'll find us on the beach or canoeing on the river.
