Hi, my name is Jonas I am a student from Cologne, Germany. Recently I started my masters looking forward to become a teacher for PE and Chemistry.
I like doing sports, especially football and horse riding, but I am actually interested in most sports. Furthermore I like cooking and baking, working with animals and being close to nature.

I am open to learn new languages. Personally I think you should always try to learn the language of the country you`re visiting. I have interests in many diffrent languages of course especially of the countries I want to visit. In exchange I can teach you some German, if you like

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I am open-minded and flexible. Additionally I`m fit and can do physical work, but I can also cook and bake. I got a Bachelor degree in Teaching PE and Chemistry and like working with people, especially with children. For example I have been trainig a childrens fooball team for a few years. I also got severeal years of expierience in the work with horses.

We have just one problem with Jonas - namely, that he doesn't want to move to our farm permanently! :)
Jonas visited our farm for two weeks in the summer of 2023, and he came back for another stay in the spring of 2024. (We are keeping our fingers crossed for 2025!)

Jonas is intelligent and hardworking, with lots of energy. He loves animals, and they love him. He is thorough in everything he does, precise and quick. He sees what needs to be done, and then just does it. He never complains, is always friendly and very polite, and appreciates even the smallest things around him.

Just like Workawayers, Workaway hosts are only humans. Sometimes we have a bad day, or we can be sad about something, or our careful planning goes down the drain because of something unforeseen. Jonas is a truly kind and patient human being. He patiently puts up with any sudden changes in our planning, or unforeseen weather shifts. And he is always open for new or unexpected tasks. At the same time, he manages to keep himself occupied when there is nothing to do, or when we are occupied with other things. He can sit quietly and read a book, or go hiking by himself.

In spite of all his energy, Jonas is a person who 'sees' and is sensitive to the people (and the animals) around him. He picks up on all the little routines and things in the household which can be a source of irritation if somebody gets it wrong all the time - Jonas gets all of them right. For example, he even figured out what our favorite cups are, and then did not use those for himself. A small thing, for sure - but we love it when our guests pay attention to these small things.

Jonas is a very sporty and athletic person. He is also a very good and experienced horse rider. Since he is from Germany, the 'system' in which he is trained to ride fits perfectly with the way we work with our horses here on the farm. It's always a joy to have riding sessions with him; he is courageous, eager to learn new techniques and works with the horses in a very positive way. Just like with humans, he 'sees' and reads the horses well, and respects their needs and desires.

It really feels like Jonas has become a member of our family, and he is welcome to come back any time he wants. There will be a space in our house for him at all times!
