I am semi-retired and looking for chances to use my skills and experience. I enjoy learning and sharing what I know.
I enjoy getting to know rural and remote areas, I find it healthy for my body soul and spirit to be in nature.
I find it satisfying to be a part of communities or co-ops so as I travel and meet people I am looking for a place where I can make a longer-term commitment and invest more of what I have.
My work experience: In my 20s I worked mostly as a machinist and in my 30s I did a lot of steel fabrication, started doing millwright, and travelled to do installations. During my 40s I worked as an AutoCAD drafter and did some project management. This led me to a mechanical service technician job where I did service and installation of sawmill equipment throughout North America and 1 or 2 trips overseas every year.
Semi-retirement has been rewarding for me. I have been able to stay in good shape and make some good memories and friends.
I have lived in rural BC most of my life owning and fixing up homes. Lived and worked on farms and ranches. Fixed and operated several types of equipment. Cut a lot of firewood and fed animals over the years. I have spent some time living off the grid and enjoy camping in summer and winter.
This last year I have enjoyed working with some portable sawmills. Setting them up and cutting lumber. I have found that being in the forest is good for me. I enjoy carefully harvesting, using simple equipment to cut boards and building with rough-cut lumber. I like learning and sharing what I know.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have trade qualifications as Machinist, Steel Fabricator. Millwright, and welding. When I have not been working in my trades I have often worked with wood and animals Over the years I have learned from a lot of talented people and from a lot of my mistakes. Being teachable and having the skills to do research has helped me a lot over the years. I still enjoy learning from others and I like to get chances to pass on what I know.

A little more about me. I like nature and find it very healthy for my mind body and spirit to be close to it. I am not very good at getting to the gym. I enjoy staying in shape by hiking, biking, swimming, working, and getting fire wood. Staying in shape is important to me.
