Description

We are an open-minded and unconventional couple from Germany on our way to the greatest adventure in our lives. Our plan is to travel South America and Southeast Asia for at least a year, followed by working in Canada the upcoming year. We are looking forward to meeting new people, learning new skills, and broadening our horizons.
Our biggest motivation during volunteering is that we can emerge into the respective culture of the country from a perspective that goes beyond the standard touristic experience. We would love to improve our language skills, offer our help whenever needed, and get to know more about the lives of the locals and other travelers. We think that every person can learn a valuable lesson from another person and we are eager to develop further.

Meet Kathi:

Kathi is 33 years old and has just completed her Master's degree in British Literature. Earlier in her life, she completed an apprenticeship as a Hotel Manageress specializing in hospitality. With 16 years of experience in waitressing in restaurants alongside her different studies, she is an excellent fit for roles in bartending, waitressing, cooking, housekeeping or working at the reception. Her academic background in English Literature also makes her an asset for tasks involving English communication or support.

Kathi’s love for sustainable living shines through her dedication to non-wasteful practices. She actively engages in foodsaving and enjoys cooking delicious meals from ingredients that would otherwise go to waste. Additionally, she has a passion for gardening and grows her own vegetables, giving her practical skills in farming and gardening.

Meet Jonas:

Jonas is 31 years old and brings diverse skills and experience to the table. He has worked in the medical field as a hearing aid specialist, a role that required excellent organizational skills, stress management, and customer service expertise. As the manager of a hearing aid shop, Jonas honed his abilities in planning, team leadership, and operational management.

During his studies in audiodesign, Jonas also worked as a waiter, gaining valuable experience in hospitality and customer interaction. In addition to his professional background, Jonas has years of experience teaching swimming to children and adults, from beginner lessons to advanced techniques. He also has a creative side, having produced electronic music for several years and performing as a DJ. This combination of skills makes him adaptable, dependable, and capable of contributing in various ways.

Autres infos...

We love to spend our time outside, we are hiking enthusiasts and like to go climbing. We have a weekly Yoga routine we don't want to miss and we love to go to art exhibitions, theatre, and other cultural activities. Jonas likes to go swimming, play the piano, and produce electronic music. Kathi loves painting pictures and DIY. And we both LOVE animals!!
