Hey there! :) I'm Anita. I'm a music, german and geography teacher with a love for the outdoors. In 2022, I already experienced Workaway in Northern Portugal and I'm very excited for what is coming next!
Since I am half Portuguese but grew up in Germany, Portugal always attracted me for its culture and natural beauty and I'm really looking forwards to interact with people and explore the nature.
I worked as a (primary school) teacher both in Germany and at the German School in Lisbon, I like teaching and beeing surrounded by children and their pure souls.
However, I decided to take a break from active teaching in order to have more time for myself and recharge. I then worked at a kids foundation in Hamburg, where I created creative projects for children such as doing ceramics, painting, writing own songs ... which was fun and I learned a lot myself.
Since this October I am in Portugal again. Being active and outdoors for most of the time and learn new things makes me very happy and grounded, so my goal is to do the same again but this time working with Workaway hosts. My Portuguese family has a quinta near Coimbra, where I am currently thinking about how it could be used the best and most sustainable way. This said, I would love to gather more knowledge about planting, gardening and nature in general.
I'm a calm person who loves a conversation, discussing about (social) topics or just contemplating a nice view in silence.
My goal is to immerse myself in the diverse environments of Portugal, contribute meaningfully, and build meaningful connections with both hosts and other Workawayers. I am flexible with tasks and always ready to lend a hand. I am looking to do gardening/ manual/ animal work, preferably around nature or animals. In Germany, I worked in hospitality for quite a bit, especially with wine, so I did several wine courses and am a certificated Wine Consultant (Germany and its certificates).

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I would say one of my strenghts is listening and learning fast :) That said I have gathered experience in taking care of animals, gardening, producing wine and cheese (which was really fun) and teaching languages to children as well as adults. Also a little fact about myself: I studied music and love to share that passion with everyone who is interested.
