Hello there :) We are Cons and Marcell.

We are an international couple who currently live in the Netherlands. We met in Italy while on a student exchange. Together, we want to go on an adventure, and experience a new culture and environment, while we hope to also be doing something useful and meaningful in the meantime.

Cons is an adventurous person looking to explore different cultures and the world, while she can hopefully do something useful and immersive :). She is German, but currently lives and studies in the Netherlands. She is most passionate about animals, nature and art. She likes yoga, pilates, sewing, knitting, painting, film, photography and reading.
She also has multiple years of experience working in hospitality, which makes her confident in working with people, and a dependable team player.
She finds working on meaningful physical projects very rewarding; Making something of value with her own two hands is something that makes her happy :)

Marcell is originally Hungarian; however, he grew up in Brussels, Belgium, in an international environment. While growing up, he learned to appreciate and adapt to different cultures, especially through learning languages, and, most importantly, tasting the foods of different cuisines :). Ever since his teenage years, he has been dreaming about travelling the world. His journey started rather small, with moving to the closeby Netherlands for his studies, but having recently graduated, he is ready to put the books down for a while and seize the opportunity to travel more, while also putting himself to good use. He loves making music, winter sports, and learning new things.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Cons:
I have experience in hospitality and childcare. I worked 2 years at an Airbnb, which was also a restaurant and an event space. My work there included check-in and check-out of guests, preparing/cleaning the rooms, answering phone calls and emails, working in the kitchen (cleaning, preparing food), working behind the bar and setting up stages, dining and backstage areas. Furthermore, I helped out with various DIY projects, including woodwork, painting and fixing bar setups. During my shifts, I worked with an international team and learned how to take responsibility and come up with my own ideas about how to fix problems.

Next to my work at the Airbnb, I also worked at a daycare of an elementary school for one year. I helped the children with their homework and lunchtime organisation. Other tasks included solving conflicts between children, organising daily program including daytrips, playing with the kids and raising awareness/talking to my colleagues about worrying behaviour/ situations where talking to the parents might be needed.

Next to my work experience, I have many more skills to offer! I love anything that has to do with handwork. I like renovating things, fixing chairs, tables or any kind of furniture. I love DIY projects, I like knitting and crocheting, I love painting, Photoshop, taking pictures and videos. Last year, I made my own little short movie with some nice evening shots in Italy and voice messages from friends. I am a very creative person who enjoys crafting. I also started cutting friends' hair 5 years ago, and til this day they are loyal customers!

Next to that, I am also an animal lover :) I am currently living with 2 cats, and fostered 2 cats 2 years ago. I also love going on walks with my Marcell's dog :).

Last but not least. I have a bachelor's in psychology and am currently finishing a Minor in criminology. I can work with programs such as SPSS or Excel (if that's needed somehow).

Marcell:

I have worked in a construction/garden engineering company where I have done some planting, general maintanance and building simple structures (garden walls, pavements, terasses, pwc flooring...).

I also have some experince babysitting and tutoring children with a different mother tongue than my own. (I mainly helped with english, mathematics and some elementary music or sports activities). I like to think I am a sociable person, and I can get along well with people of all ages.

Despite a lack of formal experience in the toursim or hospitality sector, I would say in my defense, that I am well able to treat people with respect and care, handle myself professionally, and learn and understand customs and etiquette of different cultures. Additionally, growing up in an international environment, I am lucky to speak 3 languages: English (C2), French (C1), Italian (B2) - plus, Hungarian, my mother tongue.

I am physcially able, a fast learner, and eager to put myself to use.

I have some experience with statistics and programming in R, Python and Excel (if that may be of use).

We love surfing, swimming, winter sports (Marcell is in love with skiing), going on walks, playing cards (cabo, speed), playing music (Marcell plays the drums and guitar, Cons plays piano and guitar but very unseriously), and we like to dance.
